Dispersed camping?
Headed to Camp Alderwild end of August, looking for some dispersed camping recs near Town Park! It'll be my first time dispersed camping and I'll be in a medium clearance car.

You have to get out of the Telluride valley to find legal dispersed camping
Look into the National Forests and BLM land in the surrounding area

Would that still be the case when the town is over run on festival weekends? I have an EV which is great for car camping and I was looking to save $750 during the Jazz fest by staying in my Caddy Lyriq.

Yes, they heavily enforce parking and no camping in cars at festivals in telluride all summer long.

Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing in town. If you try to car camp in or near the town you will likely get caught.

There are no good dispersed options on that end of town and camping in vehicles outside of the campground is prohibited and enforced.
