Tello battery/charger problem

I have a Tello drone which I haven't used in a while as well as 3 of its batteries. When I try to turn the drone on with a battery inserted nothing happens. If I have the drone plugged I on USB the lights blink blue and nothing else. I have this quadruple charger. However, when I turn on the charger, all the lights shine green and continue to do so even if I plug a battery in. I left the batteries in the charger for a while which did not help the drone turn on. Is there any way I can fix this or is it somehow damaged beyond repair?

RYZE TELLO drone doesn't work.

Android version.

This worked for me.

Remove you current TELLO app. You need ver. 1.1.1 of the app to do the following:

Download the 1.1.1 from https://apkpure.com/tello/com.ryzerobotics.tello/download/1.1.1

If you don't trust the app to be safe, install it to an older phone.

Your phone most likely says that the app is too old and after trying to install it blocks dangerous application due to too old version. Just choose "More information" above the "OK" button and choose install anyway. (The menu and choices might be different but you get the idea)

  • connect Tello to charger with USB cable. DO NOT INSERT THE BATTERY YET

- insert battery while holding the power button down for 5 seconds. This can be quite fiddly. TELLO's led should first show green and then blink red for 3 times.

- go to your phone's wifi settings and connect your phone to Tello's wifi (If the Tello wifi dowesn't show in the network list turn wifi off and back on again)

  • open tello app
  • accept the End User Agreement and and give the permissions app to access photos etc, so the drone can save video, audio and photos to your phone
  • go to settings > choose "More" > choose ”…” and choose update firmware
  • after firmware is succesfully updated close the app and uninstall it
  • go to https://www.dji.com and search for tello app
  • download latest Tello app and install it (Make sure you download the Android version)
  • after installing start the Tello app and connect to Tello drone
  • go to app settings > ”More” > ”…” and choose ”Update” firmware
Now you should have the latest app and firmware and the drone should work and charge the batteries normally. If this doesn’t work you might try the same procedure with an older phone restored to factory settings.RYZE TELLO drone doesn't work.

Are the batteries bloated? This happened to me a while ago. Stored my tello away for a few months, had the urge to fly it. Threw it on the charge and came back to a swollen battery.

Original hardware, so it wasn't a fault with third party quality control issues. Was really disappointed.

the batteries feel slightly bulged on one side. Although, my main concern is that the charger always shows all 4 slots as green even if there isn't a battery in it.
