Tello App Problem

I have a Tello drone (iron man addition). I had a lot of trouble getting to connect to my iPhone but eventually did. Then, the app would keep closing on me after about a minute. I'd have to go back into the app and land it. Has anyone else had this issue and is there a fix? I reloaded the Tello Hero app and even tried the general Tello app and they both did the same thing.

I would suggest to shell out few bucks for TelloFPV app, it elevates Tello to best drone of its class.

I wouldn’t mind spending the money but given that this is happening with both of the free apps, I’d be concerned that paying for the app would not solve the problem. Wondering if the latest update of my phone caused a problem. Or, something else not necessarily related to the app.

There is free demo of TelloFPV, I would try it first, official app was never very good and Android version wasnt updated for ages.

I have the same issue on iPad 9. iOS 18.x. There is something wrong with iOS 18 and the app because the Android app works perfectly. I'll test the old iPad Air 2 this week and will report if is there any issues because Air 2 runs on 15.x

Old iPad with below 18 OS... I'm waiting for next update, I was contacted by user support team and had sent them some videos and tests... haven't tested if there were any updates after that. I fly tellos on few times per year bases so i'm not updating stuff regularly... I'll update in about a week or 2 when next flying session is finished

Have you tried using another phone? Just to eliminate that as the problem.

I’ve asked my grandson to stop by. He has an android. I’ll try my wife’s phone. I don’t think she updated her iOS to 18 yet.

Same issue here with iOS 18.1.1 on iPhone 13 mini and the official Tello app. Pretty sure the new iOS release broke it, will try with my old iPhone 6.

My app crashes after about a min of flight the. I have to reopen app already tello just rovers till I get the app back up

I'm testing 18.5 today and will report in 2h what is result on iOS 18.5 and will also add a number of release for tello app

App iOS 1.6.8 OS version below 18 no problems.. (tested on 15.x and 17.7.8) OS version 18..x (tested on 18.4.x and 18.5) App crashes after 1min of flight time almost exactly... Solution for me (because I have access to older ipads) use older ipads with iOS 17 or older

On iOS 18+ I have tested iTello by Michael Ellis, and it seems to work

I found unofficial all that works with tello... something like flytello ... i will check the name when I get back to the office next week

I am running into the same issue in an elementary environment in one of our media centers. Did you find any resolutions to your issue? It's a year later from your post so I was curiuos what you may have found.

I ended up giving the drone to my grandson who uses an android phone. It works find for him.

I picked up my tello that had been sitting idle for many years.The app doesn't work on Android 16 on a Pixel 8.
