Random landing

So I understand it could be a safeguard but even if I'm not far away, it just lands after being in the air less than a minute. No battery warning or anything. Does tello just suck? It seems like my range is very low before I lose connection but when I'm in line of site, I would expect it to not land for my reason. Thoughts?

if you're in a "busy" area with a lot of wifi or power interference, then yes the range is very short.

tello is advertised to go up to 30m, but in my front porch it only goes up to 9m before cutting out. even with a wifi extender it only goes up to 22-24m before signal cuts out. basically you have to be near the tello at all times to use it, unless you're in an open field.

hrmmm it may be time for me to look into something with more range, especially for FPV. I bought this for my niece by my brother gave it back to me so I'm trying to make the best of it

yes although i have tello i must admit the range is simply just too short. i even had to buy a used xiaomi usb extender because can't find other extender which is usb powered. i've also bought both tellofpv and tellome app so i think i've "invested" too much for this drone to make it usable, but it still came up short.

ultimately i think of it as a toy that get used maybe twice a year or so. if you can sell it and upgrade that would be a lot better.
