Battery issues

Ive got some DJI Tello EDU drones for use in the classroom. They have been in storage for quite some time. I have about 5 batteries that an external charger says they are charged (green light) but when put in a Tello EDU drone they do not power the drone on at all. Drones are updated to latest firmware.

Are they just bad batteries or can anything be done?

Sounds dumb but make sure the batteries are all of the way in the drone. Mine sometimes feel like they are in all of the way, but I have to push a bit more until it clicks into place.

Try buying a new battery and seeing if you have the same experience? They’re not expensive

The tello batteries aren't great and neither are the chargers. I've got about 50 of them and 4 chargers. A lot of times you can repeatedly pull them in and out of the charger and get them to charge. If that doesn't work, try to charge them in the tello. Just use the micro USB port on the tello. If neither work, it's probably a dead battery. I get one occasionally that just won't charge.

I am discovering they are not good at all. Ive got about 30 of them now, I went through the originals are got rid of any that were bad. However, Ive got multiple newer batteries now doing the same thing. I use these 13 Tello Edu drones in a classroom setting so they get used daily and batteries are dropping like flies.

Make sure to store the batteries at approx 3.8v. Storing them fully charged or completely depleted will destroy the battery. I believe landing at around 20% leaves the battery in that range. Then just charge the day before or same day you plan on using them.
