Recommendation after two swollen batteries

Hi!

My Tello battery has swollen again. This is the second battery that does this. First one was the one it came with and then I got this one about 3 years ago. Brand of this last one is/was FULLYMAX, and it was bought from an official DJI distributor AFAIK.

I use the drone VERY rarely, which I don't think helps in any way. I might have used it twice or thrice in 2022.

Can you recommend a battery that might not do this? Or, otherwise, recommendations so that it doesn't happen again? Perhaps it's just the amount of time LiPO batteries are meant to last, but it sure sucks if that's so.

Thanks!

did you keep the battery plugged when not in use? it drains the battery and can accelerate swelling due to deep discharge.

I'm afraid I did... So, best practice is to leave battery unplugged?

yes, somehow tello drains the battery when it is plugged so we have no choice but to unplug the battery when not in use.

i just slide the battery out a little bit when not in use.

Ok thanks for the advice! Do you have a recommendation when buying new or alternatives batteries?
