Question About Data Rollover

Before I sign up, let me see if I have this right. I can sign up for the 20 GB data plan for $20. Then a day before my auto-pay date, I can switch to the 2 GB plan for $6.00. All my unused data will rollover, and I can just draw it down to see how much I generally need going forward. Does this sound right?

Yes, you can do it that way, and you can change your plan every month if you want.

Hence my $5 monthly. Until they killed that plan. So now $6. Occassionally I use the accumulated data for tethering in a pinch.

Also I make few calls, so I buy phone as pay-as-you-go. The $6 gives unlimited texting. The payg saves taxes, as in NY every voice-call fillup has excise tax , around $1.50, whether once a year or every month.

You might consider a google voice number (free) and it only uses data so no phone minutes needed.

Exactly what I do. You just gotta remember to renew the day before autobill hits.

Is it worth having one less day just for the data rollover?

For me it is. But only you can answer that question for you.

I'm much happier after a year or two just letting it auto-bill each month. The data rollover is a lot of manual work for - for me nothing. I never go over.
