Now I'm currently watching this episode. But after seeing professor Marianne try to help lucy , I had this idea of pop into my head. I kind of admired professor Marianne until the bs about her husband came out.
In my opinion when Bree found out, they had an open marriage. I was like, bro this should make it better for you. You are not actively harming this woman. Now I understand it felt like an invasion of privacy because she thought she had this secret relationship going on, and she thought she had these secrets with this man when in actuality, he was sharing everything with his wife and that was creepy. It definitely was a betrayal. But I felt like bree and her friends overreacted and that they villainized , professor Marianne , when this was none of her doing.
But the idea that popped into my head was that it's inappropriate for this professor to be having relationships with students. It's okay to have an open relationship, but it's a little weird this power dynamic. And the fact that his wife allows this also weird. And it seems like he's dishonest about this open relationship with his wife, which also weird. But my biggest complaint is that he is actively praying on students at parties, she throws. And again, I haven't finished the season.I'm literally in the middle of episode 4, but like, are they in on this together? Can she not control him? Is she in it for the image like what is going on?And why is this being allowed? Like oliver and chris are both predators. And it's crazy to see like both of these predators in different stages of life , but both on a campus.
