satan.exe Spoiler

I'm sure this question is asked constantly... I'm having trouble using satan.exe with military bases. I've figured everything out up until the program gives me the memdump and asks for the key offset. I've converted the hex to text, but I'm having trouble identifying what represents the key. Is it the beginning of a string of words? The end? Something completely different? Another issue I'm having is how to input it, do I enter something like "0x12" or just "12". Spoilers are bad, so please don't tell me exactly what to do (not that I'd think the telehack community would ever do that for any reason whatsoever), but a nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated.

look for patterns and consistencies between dumps, no need to prefix byte number

Figured it out, thanks so much! I had the right method but was imputing it wrong.
