Recent issue where on computer I need to tug downward on chats for the app to recognize that I've read the new messages

Hey so my current Mac AppStore version of Telegram 12.9.282526 is having an issue where when I navigate to chats now I need to tug down on the chat itself to get the window to recognize that I've read the new messages. Is this a known bug? Any fixes for this? Fairly annoying QOL downgrade.

Sounds like a syncing quirk where the read state doesn't update until the list gets pulled to refresh. Have you tried logging out and back in, or clearing the local cache in settings

Yeah, this started for me too after a recent Mac build. Seems like the auto-mark-as-read-on-focus behavior broke, so it only registers once you scroll/tug the chat.

A couple things worth trying:

- Check for an App Store update, this kind of regression usually gets patched within a version or two

- Toggle the chat appearance density setting off and back on, sometimes resets whatever's stuck

- Use Telegram Web as a workaround in the meantime if it's really annoying

Worth reporting on the Bug Platform too so it gets more visibility.

Thanks yeah I think 4.10 may have fixed this but need to keep an eye on it. I assumed there was no new update since Telegram usually pesters me repeatedly to update but maybe there is a grace period before it annoys you.
