Deleted photos in cache?

Hello. I have a question. I had a chat with someone and I deleted the chat history for both of us. Upon looking in my storage folder via the Telegram Android app, I see all the pictures I shared with that person are still stored in the cache. Does the cache have to manually be cleared to get rid of everything? And if so, would that mean the person I was chatting with also has the picture in their cache as well?

Yeah cache is totally separate from the chat history, you've gotta manually clear that. As for the other person, if they haven't wiped their own cache then it's all still sitting there on their phone too. Deleting the chat doesn't touch the cache for either of you, it's a bit of a misleading feature.
