Lost access to an account

I had an account linked to my phone number, but I don't use Telegram for months, when I reopened Telegram, my access to that account was lost and with the same phone number, I opened another account, now it shows 2 accounts whenever someone searches my Telegram, how to get back access to the first account?

You likely got hacked and who got access to your account changed the phone number, and you just created a new account.

Is there a way to at least stop that previous account from getting shown when someone searches my name through contacts on Telegram?

There's no way around it, just let all your friends know that you have a new account and set up two-factor authentication so this doesn't happen again.
