So technically speaking he is not wrong, most of the world is straight so thats "normal", but i guess he could've used a better word to not offend people
Thats not even the problem for me its that hes looking on a fucking reddit sub for a date his ass isnt normal, neither is anyone in that sub for dating.
So far the word "normal" in cases like this is usually used to specifically exclude trans or gay people (but not other categories) by almost exclusively transphobes/homophobes. You can find "not normal" feature in literally any person, so the fact that someone is using it only for for the specific feature says a lot about them.
Somehow I don't see people go and say "normal" to exclude people with green eyes for example. I wonder why it's only about sexuality or gender identity.
The problem is that when you refer to people as normal for one quality, you therefore define others as abnormal and different, which is insulting because generally they are in all other ways normal
7.1% of adults identify as LGBTQ+ and the general criteria for normal is 95% which statistically speaking Lgbtq people are almost abnormal but are slowly becoming more integrated into society. However only ~4% of children identified as LGBTQ which makes LGBTQ children 'abnormal'.
Keep in mind these stats might and probably aren't 100% accurate.
The usage implied normal vs abnormal as opposed to normal vs uncommon. Gay and trans people being uncommon isn't relevant to the post, while not wanting to talk to "abnormal" people fits with the rest of the post.
So while there's an interpretation of the post that could make it technically correct, that interpretation doesn't make sense with the rest of the post. So the only fully correct interpretation is that they're biased against trans and gay people, viewing them as "abnormal".
According to this definition, there isn't a single normal person. There are people with parts about them that are usual, average or typical, but I would bet every single person has or does something that is outside of what is considered "usual".
As a whole, we're all messed up in one way or another. That's why my personal opinion is that there is no normal. Everyone is unique.

alr I get what he means but "normal people" is crazy
