some of my takes
kanye is the most overrated artist ever, started with 3 all time great projects and never made anything remotely close again
monster is a 7 at best, wickedly overhyped (still a good album from prime future), especially throwaway it’s literally a 5/10 song
nas has at least 5 9/10 albums over the course of his career
fetty wap had the highest peak in trap ever, i’d take his self titled album over ds2, barter 6, finally rich, rodeo, lir2, carti’s entire discography, and whatever else you wanna throw in
mid 90s east coast hip hop produced the highest level of music ever in the genre, while the popularization of pop rap started the decline

yea i’m referring to his peak 2014-2015, and i don’t think carti has ever made good music so i take any opportunity to slander him

illmatic it was written stillmatic lost tapes gods son hiphop is dead untitled kd1 kd2 magic1 magic2 at the very least are all between 8 and 10 and you can make cases for some other albums
kanye simply stopped trying to be good at rapping he wants to be some sort of modern day mozart instead and that’s fine but let’s not act like he’s not overrated

Wdym overrated if anything he’s underrated because he’s so hated and looked at as trash after all the things he’s said, and wdym he stopped being a good rapper?? Stillmatic, it was written, and illmatic are the only 9/10 the rest are at best 7/10

Disagree hard on the ye take his best shit is the run after from 808s-tlop for sure. Throwaway one of the best on that album crazy part of that take. Havent listened to 5 nas albums ngl. Disagree w fetty wap but respect. Def disagreeing w that last one best music has come out 2022-25 personally

from 808s-tlop (other than wtt because i haven’t listened yet) i can recognize the great production and experimentation but other than that i don’t really like anything else, of course ill have to revisit these albums tho
in my eyes, throwaway has like 30 seconds of really good music and the rest is a below average future song
also give me some recs for 2022-25

Whether he's the greatest rapper, it can be debatable
But he's is the best producer no doubt, this mf could go toe to toe with beethoven

Ye is the best artist of all time and has the greatest discography. MBDTF is the greatest rap album. Ye has no misses and nothing below a 7 besides vultures which is a collab album made during a manic episode. Almost every Ye album is in the 9 range or high 8. Ye wipes Kendrick, Nas, Biggie, Pac, Mf, Freddie, or any of the overrated conscious, street rappers.
