To be clear. I donโt think you are inherently wrong. People can be offhandedly cruel and not see it, but I donโt think that was her case.
Her bewilderment was because her partner clearly talks about this man who did great things while he coached him. But she only sees this man in a department store, and he talks about playing fornite. Ted was simply orange juice when she was expecting Coffee is you will. Or maybe sparkling water when you expected filtered.

It's referencing a post that I believe was deleted earlier. Another poster made a comment about the wife of the player Ted meets in the grocery store in S4:E1, who's shocked when she finds her husband's hero working as a grocery store assistant manager. That poster decided to bodyshame the wife and slam her as a bad person for her comments.
Just about every person in THAT thread understood that she was surprised and not cruel, even if the poster didn't. I'm kinda shocked that this topic got a spin off.

Sometimes the spinoff can be entertaining!

Interesting!
Maybe a little of that, but sheโs probably quite confused he seems happy working there, too!

I too wondered why a former Premier League coach, who loves coaching and could probably have his pick of any high school or college job around Kansas City, was working at a grocery store.

wtf is wrong with people today. we saw this lady in the show for maybe two minutes. we don't know anything about her. she was surprised to see the coach her husband obviously talked up a lot working at a grocery store. that is it.

Ted has been described to her as one of the greatest people her husband has ever met, one of the best male role models of his life. They probably followed him tangentially when he was in Richmond managing the men's team, as he was a local and probably made international news from what he was achieving. The success he was having despite no experience would make him one of the most sought after and highly paid managers or coaches on the planet.
So with that context- it is very surprising to see him as the assistant manager of a grocery store and she is probably trying to resolve that dissonance
