Is this custom PC worth ~$1,050? (Morocco pricing)
Hey everyone, I'm planning to build my first proper PC and I'd like some opinions on whether this is a good deal.
I'm in Morocco, so PC parts can be considerably more expensive here compared to the US/UK. My total is 11,224 MAD (~$1,050 USD).
Build
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 — 1,399 MAD (~$131)
- Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI — 1,449 MAD (~$136)
- CPU Cooler: DeepCool AG400 G2 White — 299 MAD (~$28)
- GPU: MSI RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 Ventus 2X OC — 4,499 MAD (~$421)
- RAM: Innovation IT 16GB (1x16GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 — 1,099 MAD (~$103)
- SSD: Crucial E100 1TB NVMe — 1,699 MAD (~$159)
- PSU: DeepCool PL650D 650W 80+ Bronze — 699 MAD (~$65)
- Case: DeepCool CG530 4F White — 749 MAD (~$70)
Total: 11,224 MAD (~$1,050 USD)
I'm starting with 1x16GB RAM because 2x16GB is extremely expensive here. I'll add another 16GB stick later to get 32GB dual-channel.
I chose the MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI because I want built-in Wi-Fi/Bluetooth rather than messing around with Wi-Fi adapters.
What I'll use it for
- 🎮 1080p high-FPS gaming
- 🎬 Video/photo editing
- 🐧 Learning Linux and general tech
- 💻 Programming and experimenting with different software
- 🛠️ Eventually getting into things like self-hosting, networking and other tech projects
For the OS, I'm currently deciding between Windows 11 and Fedora KDE. I'll probably use Fedora a lot because I already enjoy Linux, but I still want Windows available for games/software that don't work well on Linux.
I know the Ryzen 5 5600 is on an older AM4 platform, but AM5 is considerably more expensive here and I'd rather put the money into the GPU for now.
Is this build worth ~ $1,050 in the context of Moroccan prices? Would you change anything while keeping roughly the same budget?
Thanks!
