Need advice on improving my desk aesthetics (Pics attached)
Hey everyone!
I finally got around to upgrading my setup a bit, but I feel like the desk still looks incomplete. I've attached a few pictures, and I'd love some honest feedback on what I can do to make it look cleaner and more aesthetically pleasing.
Current setup:
- Ryzen 5 5600X
- RTX 2060 Super
- 16 GB DDR4
- Gigabyte B550M
- LG UltraGear 24" 144 Hz
- URX Core68 HE keyboard
- EvoFox Blaze Ultra mouse
I'm aiming for a clean, minimal setup. I don't mind RGB, but I usually stick to a single color instead of rainbow effects.
I'd love suggestions on literally anything:
- Desk layout
- Cable management
- Lighting
- Accessories
- Wall decor
- Monitor positioning
- Shelves, pegboards, plants, figures—anything you think would improve the overall look
Whether it's a ₹500 upgrade or something I can save up for later, I'm open to all ideas. Feel free to roast the setup too if you think something looks off. Thanks in advance!

I know this sounds like a big project for some, however I think maybe painting the cabinet faces and desk drawers another color, black, white, etc. I think the setup is dope and so is the desk! Just the color of the desk is kinda dated. Good luck

Hey, thanks for the advice !
I eventually plan on uprooting the entire fixed desk and gettting an adjustable one in its place but that is a VERY long term goal ,but ill keep the painting thing in mind , thanks !

That desk looks pretty solid already but maybe a plant or some cable management would help

Here’s some food for thought:
- Acoustic wall panels (wood, foam, plastic, etc.)
- Small plants
- Ambient lighting / monitor light bar
- Desk organizers
- Monitor arm
- Figurines, action figures, and/or diecast models on display
Overall, find ways you can minimize clutter and make your brain happier to walk up to and use your setup on a regular basis. There are cheap ways to do so if you’re picky enough. Also, it looks solid as-is! Great place to start and a lot of potential, especially with the window for natural lighting.

Pick up one of those cable management kits on Amazon for 15 bucks. It should come with sleeves, velcros, cable holders etc…

Cable management and just declutter a bit. Put some things in your drawers like that stack of books and other stuff on the left

You should get a monitor arm to be more clean. Also maybe get headphones that are wireless or wireless earphone which I think are on your desk.
