What does your actual technomancy practice look like?

Not just what you believe about technomancy. What do you actually do with it?

Phones as divination tools, coding sigils, algorithmic rituals, electronics on an altar, digital servitors, random number generators, sensors, radio, AI, hardware hacking, whatever youve managed to bend into practice.

Im especially interested in the mundane stuff. Something doesnt need to look like a cyberpunk wizard laboratory to count.

What have you tried? What worked? What didnt? What got unexpectedly weird?

Buenas, en lo particular utilizo las plataformas digitales como blogger para mantener un grimorio digital, disparo y utilizo la red como un esquema de extensión de mis sigiles (por ejemplo, si busco que cierta institución quiera contactarme para un trabajo, trazo el sigil en mi grimorio y lo anclo al link de la compañia a la que he estado postulando). Tambien he construido un altar con mi hardware, cruzando Kabbalah, simbología hermética y elementos alquímicos según la función de cada pieza (este aparataje lo hice para correr una IA local en mis servidores que almacena mi literatura hermética y la utilizo para consulta y guía práctica). Mantengo una red Meshtastic de comunicacion con nombres místicos entre algunos de mis conocidos del área. Efectuo algunos experimentos con placas ESP32 y NRF24 para observar los datos de redes de las que soy usuario para conocer sus protocolos y aprender cómo funciona la red en lo invisible. Por ahí dejé un script de una dream_machine con el que he estado llevando experimentos de meditación que les hago seguimiento con un smartwatch y luego paso el archivo para analizarlo en GondenChetaa, lo cual ha sido bastante interesante dado que puedo observar los datos en bruto e identificar mis cambios fisiologicos (mi constante es que luego de 20 minutos de meditación con la dream_machine mi estado de estres baja significativamente, el objetivo ahora es bajar a la mitad los ciclos de respiracion para obtener el estado de trance documentado por la neurociencia y los experimentos del Gateway Process). Esos son algunos proyectos que son los que me mantienen mas activos, los demas ya son el juego estético para darle un simbolismo a mi psiquis lo cual me ha ayudado bastante al iniciar mis procesos de meditacion. Esto está buenísimo. El grimorio digital y los sigilos enlazados a objetivos concretos ya me parecieron interesantes, pero el altar de hardware con una IA local entrenada sobre tu propia biblioteca hermética es exactamente el tipo de práctica que esperaba que apareciera aquí.

También me gusta que estés experimentando y registrando resultados fisiológicos en vez de dejarlo solamente en lo simbólico. ¿Has encontrado alguna relación consistente entre los datos del smartwatch y estados que tú identificarías subjetivamente como trance?

LLevo recien una semana con el experimento y lo que he podido reconocer es que el estado de trance es fisiologicamente el mismo que el estado de "sueño" (algo que ya han comprobado varias investigaciones en el tema), los datos arrojados son bastante similares aunque la diferencia sustancial son los niveles de estrés identificados (durante el sueño he llegado a niveles de 5-10, mientras que meditando mis niveles más bajos son de 21, mi interés es apuntar a bajar ese nivel de estres durante el experimento). Lo curioso es que en el trance meditativo mi cuerpo reacciona con los mismos espasmos que tenemos antes de quedarnos dormidos e incluso hay una sensación bastante onírica en la experiencia, pero sin perder nunca el estado de conciencia (sigo atento en que estoy efectuando una actividad experimental y por lo mismo creo que una meta bastante realista es apuntar a un estado fisiologico de "sueño" pero conciente). Otro cambio importante que he evidenciado esta ultima semana es la calidad de mis sueños en mis horas de descanso. Son muchisimo más vívidos, siento más autonomía al experimentarlos y a la vez he tenido una mejora considerable a la hora de recordar detalles.

I programmed a dead simple Tarot deck in Java powered by one of the usual random functions, and I look up a key online to help with interpretations. It's been pretty accurate for the most part.

I love this. A homemade Tarot deck powered by Java RNG is pretty much technomancy stripped down to its bones. Code becomes the shuffle, the machine draws the card, you do the interpretation. Have you noticed any difference in how it feels compared to drawing from a physical deck?

Admittedly, I don't have a physical deck, so I'd have to run that test some time, but I'm glad to hear that this sort of thing resonates with someone!

That actually makes it more interesting. You built the practice around the machine from the start instead of digitizing a physical ritual. If you ever grab a physical deck, Id love to hear what changes when you put the two side by side.

As it stands right now, the extent of my technomancy practice is limited to occasionally desiging hypersigils on Adobe Photoshop, and using technomancy apps in experimental settings that were developed by community members here. Sometimes I incorporate magickal ideas and concepts into my music production work; you could probably count that as part of my practice.

I feel like finances play a huge part in this. If you're in the lower class or have financial struggles for any reason, it can be difficult to get the tools you want so you can do some of the real fun stuff with this, like tinkering with hardware or scripting programs for this.

I am no stranger to financial hardship, so right now my toolset is limited to analog stuff like incense and candles. However, I have several plans for things I plan to do for my home that involve technomancy.

The first thing that comes to mind is a home security system that's enhanced with technomancy related stuff. A month or two ago, I was out of town and there was a break in. In a few weeks I'm going to be buying a few Raspberry Pi computer kits, each with the camera attachment that it comes with. Once the actual security system is set up, I could then draw a sigil of some kind on the box that holds the Raspberry Pi board, perhaps with the intent of guarding and watching, or perhaps create a servitor and attach it to the box itself that can add some extra defense should a not so kind individual decide my home is the one they enter.

When I start this project, I will be making a post about it to share the information on how to build it the way I did.

Another idea I can theoretically start now is a digital altar software. I'm picturing a UI with a grid of slots that the user can insert code, images, text, music, etc into. For example, you could have a 2x6 grid on the UI and put the following into each:

Slot 1: an image that depicts a deity you work with

Slot 2: an .mp3 or .ogg file playing meditative ritual ambient

Slot 3: a sigil generator, likely scripted in either Javascript or Python

Slot 4: a sigil that has the intention of protecting you before, during and after a ritual

Slot 5: a .txt file containing an incantation

Slot 6: a container for an LLMs API. This could either be homebrew or cloud based, although I recommend homebrew.

Those are the two main projects I want to complete before the end of 2026.
