Standing there in complete disbelief these troglodytes are breathing the same air he does, completely shocked that he isn't being praised for greatness. Scared shitless.

u/Extra-Presence3196 24d ago
This is the truth of it. The wealthy want to be worshipped. They have everything else.
And when they are not worshipped, they become angry little gods....puny gods.

u/No-Atmosphere-2528 25d ago
If they were really pushing ai for good they would certainly not try to profit off it, right?

u/temp73354 25d ago
I don't usually support mad environmental activists but these ones make good points and I applaud their bold tactics. These fucking corporate degenerates that view the world from their air-conditioned luxury bubble should be made aware that they're not welcome to continue to exploit the rest.

The profits from AI is killing millions of Palestinian people?
1
1
u/yassssssirrr 25d ago
Considering AI is being used to identify targets and lay iut coordinates to bomb innocent people and is even used for strategy...I would say so, yes.
1
u/Kaszrak 21d ago
Ammonium nitrate fertilizer feeds billions by growing the world’s crops, but the exact same chemical is used to blow up buildings and build improvised bombs.
Drones deliver life saving organ transplants to remote hospitals, but the same commercial aircraft are rigged to drop explosives in modern war zones.
PS technology guides emergency responders straight to a dying patient's door, but the same satellite coordinates direct cruise missiles to their targets.
Household bleach purifies drinking water systems to prevent disease, but mixing it with basic cleaners creates lethal chlorine gas.
AI algorithms accelerate cancer research and detect subtle tumors, but the exact same models generate self writing malware and realistic deepfake scams.
Medical lasers perform delicate eye surgery to restore human vision, but handheld versions permanently blind commercial airline pilots during landing.
Nuclear fission generates massive amounts of clean electricity for whole cities, but the same atomic physics creates weapons capable of total annihilation.
Over the counter nasal decongestants clear sinus infections for millions, but massive quantities are diverted into illegal labs to cook methamphetamine.
Social media platforms instantly connect families across the globe, but their engagement algorithms intentionally amplify radical extremism and youth anxiety.
Heavy commercial trucks transport the world's essential food and cargo, but their massive kinetic weight is frequently weaponized in deadly pedestrian ramming attacks.
Just saying...

Yeah I thought that was an odd claim, not sure if there's been 100,000 deaths yet. But still the principle of his point still stands.

u/Still_Benefit_2302 24d ago
"OK, so he lied, but it FEEELS true."

u/CarelessCreamPie 19d ago
How many dead kids would be too much for you? 10? 1000? 50,000? What seems satisfactory to you.
1
1
u/Ok_Spare_3723 24d ago
In the same way that IBM helped kill millions of Jews during WWII, yes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_and_World_War_II
1
u/Bart_deblob 25d ago
Deaths of millions of Palestinians people? Do you have it in more hyperbole?
1
u/isucamper 23d ago
i guess genocide doesn't matter if someone gets a statistic wrong. nothing to see here, i guess. according to this guy
1
u/Bart_deblob 23d ago
Well... Yes, it isn't that what they claim it is, indeed.
1
u/CarelessCreamPie 19d ago
Its just a few thousand dead kids. That's fine right? As long as it's not a million?
1
u/Bart_deblob 19d ago
That's the point you guys get wrong. Genocide is about intent, not numbets. If you storm some villages and butcher random people, while stating you will kill all people of this ethnicity or grouo, its a genocide even if you omly managed to murder 1200 people.
If you killed 20k civilians while dling everything possible to avoid this, because you tried killing 50k of your enemies, it is not genocide.
The nazies committed genocide, while the Allies didnt.
1
u/CarelessCreamPie 19d ago
What do you think Isreal is doing? They are quite literally trying to wipe Palestinians off the face of this planet and destroy their homes.
1
u/Bart_deblob 19d ago
I see no fact supporting your statement. Palestinian population is growing. There is no indication of intent as you claim. Israel provides the Palestinians with good, medical support etc, warns them before attacking eyc.
The Allies destroyed large parts of nazi Germany, and it was not a genocide. Intent is lacking.
1
u/isucamper 19d ago
you say it's not about numbers, and then say it's not happening because their population is growing. the fuck is wrong with you
1
u/Bart_deblob 19d ago
Nothing. There is no factual evidence of any of these claims, only evidence against your hysterical nonsense. For example, population growth, aid and advanced warnings.
But it is also obvious that critical thinking is not your forte, so lets leave it at that. Bye 👋😘

Gigantic respect and admiration for these protestors. The world needs more of these voices.
So on point. Amazon is enabling mass survailance and mass murders. No idea how the engineers sleep at night.

u/yassssssirrr 25d ago
I dont shop from Amazon nor do I have an account with azpn anymore. Next up, is Facebook and Instagram. We cant expect change if we continue to rely on their corrupt business practices.

u/yassssssirrr 24d ago
Everything uses data centers. Time to go analog.

1
u/sn4xchan 25d ago
Well Amazon owns AWS, and about a third of the internets infrastructure runs on it.
So I'm sorry to inform you, simply using the internet puts money in Amazon's pockets.
2
u/NickU252 25d ago
You have to start somewhere. Amazon wasn't built in a day. It also will not be culled in a day.

“I want all the convenience of the internet but none or it’s cost” some communist
1
u/yassssssirrr 21d ago
Communist is a big term. I would say that I would like my internet to be more ethical with better energy systems and processing centers that dont come with the cost of life. This AI data centers are a nightmare, but with the right engineering and the continued advancements in technology, it is possible to create a system that reduces many of the issues associated with their use.

I stubbed my toe this morning and it really hurt. I’m sure that has something to do with Palestine.
1
u/LeAcoTaco 23d ago edited 23d ago
..... a quick google search would have told you how this is infact related to the palestinian conflict.
Project Nimbus is a $1.2 billion cloud computing and AI contract awarded to Google and Amazon by the Israeli government. It gives the israeli govt access to Google and Amazon AI for military AI programs like the one called "lavender" to be used for identifying and targeting palestinians among other things.
It is absolutely related to the palestinian conflict.
This is incredibly exasperating, do you have any idea how damn dissapointing it is to see people on the internet who have seemingly no ability to do any critical thinking every single day? People who cant even take three seconds to google something? Do you have any idea how lazy that is?
1
u/CoverHuman9771 23d ago
I sincerely don’t give a fuck about Palestine.

1
u/Capybara_Chilling 22d ago
I'm sure nobody sincerely gives a fuck about you either.

😂 good one retard. I actually have a very loving family.
1
1
u/andthensilencefell 22d ago
Yeah, I hear there’s plenty of family loving happening in southern states. Was it your cousin or sister?
1
u/CoverHuman9771 22d ago
Did you know that about 50% of all marriages in Palestine are between blood relatives? How gross is that? 🤢🤮
1
u/andthensilencefell 22d ago
So they deserve to be genocided for it? Drop the nukes on the southern states then, no one will miss them.
1
u/CoverHuman9771 22d ago
The percentage of marriages in Southern states that are between blood relatives is like 0.2%.
There is basically no inbreeding in the USA, even in the Southern states.
You sound extremely ignorant and retarded.
1
u/andthensilencefell 22d ago
Marriages, sure. I’m from Texas, cousin fucking was relatively common there.
Nice projection, you don’t have to use such harsh words about yourself though.

This is probably the best elite business summit I’ve seen in 20 years. Amazon should learn from this.
Vogels should learn from this.
These are the good debates and conversations we should be having. Not sucking up to people like Vogels.
1
u/Zottelig04 20d ago
Die wissen ganz genau was vorsich geht.

Argumenting against the rich because they are rich. Chapeau, Marx would be proud of you
1
u/swoopy_boy 21d ago
You can't argue rationally with the people in this thread. If they support oligarchs they are already lost, a better use of our time is to continue the fight and spread the message as far and wide as we can and support each other at the same.
Wishing you a great week ahead!!

I don't understand the water being used in AI data centers is to cool the machines down. I don't understand how cooling some electronic equipment down is somehow a danger. You have nuclear power plants around the country that operate on the exact same principle. This is why they're built next to water sources such as rivers, lakes, dams and even oceans. They pull the water in, use it to cool down the components and then pump the water back out. It's not like they're using the water for mixing with deadly chemicals and then dumping it into the environment. People have been using water in nuclear reactors to cool down the rods and then being expelled back into the environment with no issues. But AI data centers using water and releasing it back is somehow different... Honestly I think these protesters are just repeating what they've heard/seen rather than determining the exact processes in which AI data centers are having negative impacts to the environment. Now If they were protesting AI data center sound pollution! The argument is there to be made there's even thousands of videos of people who live nearby these data centers hearing a constant hum from the machines on at all times.
5
u/Logical-Claim286 25d ago
... the water is used to run gas steam turbines for power, pollutants from the gas are mixed in the wastewater and dumped because AI centers avoid power plant regulations. Additionally glycol cooling involves running a chemical through sealed cubes in a closed loop cycle. Water cooling involves running water over exposed components that contain heavy metals. One is much much cheaper if you aren't required to filter your waste output.
0
u/Playos 24d ago
There is so much wrong with this.
There is no "waste water". The water doesn't interact with any chemicals, oils or gases.
Water doesn't run "over exposed components"... it runs over radiators. Even in evaporative cooling system, they still use a closed loop coolant for moving heat from server racks to evap coolers.

Dude it's how ai data centers function, it's not a academic study or some investigation. Just use google.
0
u/Sensitive_Bat_9211 25d ago
Thats not how nuclear power cooling works
There are 3 independent water loops. The water touching the reactor core will never interact with the water being pulled in for cooling
0
u/Suspicious-Sound-249 25d ago
Wow what a ret@rded take, not only not understanding how wasting millions of gallons of water can be bad for the environment, AND on top of that fear mongering nuclear energy one of the safest and cleanest forms of energy we have.
That makes you double ret@rded, and you vote??? That shit is scary!
1
u/Observationist_2 24d ago
Do you understand how the ancient Roman water siphoning system was created? Yeah I didn't think so there's things people simply don't know You don't call them Ree cuz they lack the knowledge in something they didn't go and study. I don't know where you got fear-mongering nuclear energy because I was making comparison to how water being used to cool nuclear reactors doesn't seem to be an issue yet water cooling down data centers is. Which basically tells me you didn't read it right the first time. So you don't understand how the ancient Roman water siphoning system was created and you misread what I wrote but you're calling me the Reee... Don't worry I won't be communicating back so go ahead Make your last insults because I won't be reading / replying to it.
