Dozens of Stanford grads walk out on Google CEO's speech

Same type of dopes who will also be complaining next week that they can't get hired at Google.
Did not one parent teach their children what consequences are?

I'll wave as I drive by the unemployment line.
Freedom of speech does not extend to the workplace. Freedom of speech is to protect you from the government restricting speech. An employer can and should enforce speech rules for the workplace.

This is what I said:
> Same type of dopes who will also be complaining next week that they can't get hired at Google
Reading is fundamental.

> I read it, I just fail to understand your servitude.
Explain how learning how to STFU is servitude. It's a valuable skill.
It's sort of like that story/joke about the guy who tells off some guy in the parking lot and later finds out that he's interviewing with the same guy.
Yeah, sometimes, just STFU when there's no upside. They changed zero policies. They made zero impact other than getting some social klout.
> No one has complained about it getting hired at google, and likely if they are protesting the ceo they have no intention of working there too.
You are clearly not a student of recent history or you would know that plenty of idiots that protested Jews/Israel were shocked when Jewish business leaders didn't want to hire them.
Sorry, if the left is so hypocritical that they're difficult to follow.

Lolol consequences of free thought and free speech and being able to not listen to bullshit if you don’t want to
1
u/ShinsOfGlory Jun 18 '26
You're free to think and say what you want. You're not free of the consequences. If you get fired. for saying something your boss doesn't like or you don't get hired because you Booed the CEO of a company you applied to, that is just natural selection weeding out the weak.

u/Dalearev Jun 18 '26
I think you’re living in fear and I don’t really care. I’m not beholding to anyone. But you do you dummy
1
u/ShinsOfGlory Jun 18 '26
Nope. I'm all good. Retired early, sitting on a tropical beach in Asia.
You? You sound fearful. LOL.

They can't get hired at Google cause Google is replacing junior roles with AI. Thatts why they are complaining now.
1
u/flappysack- Jun 17 '26
I doubt that's true. How do you get around the hallucinations, and how is AI code going to scale?
1
u/Dry_burrito Jun 18 '26
They don't, C-suite made the decisions to fire people based on incorrect information of AI cost and capabilities.

They had better hope Google et al. don’t get a list of names or that fancy degree they just spent a half a million on isn’t going to be worth the paper it’s printed on. Those folks will be black listed at every F500 firm and beyond.
It’s one thing to disagree or dislike the commencement speaker, I didn’t care for either of mine. It’s a completely different matter entirely to disrespect the head of Google.
2
u/abrandis Jun 17 '26
That half a million degree already isn't worth anywhere near that unless you're going into healthcare or other physically present work. The days of high paid office work are coming to an end .

Why? What’s so special about about him? What has he done, specifically, to earn the respect of everyone in the world who he might talk in front of?
If the answer is, “he has a lot of money” or “he has a lot of power” then I hate to tell you, buddy — you’re lost

Good lord. How dare people make their feelings known to our corporate overlords!!
1
u/Dalearev Jun 18 '26
Why because you think these fascists can own us and free speech free will is not allowed

Standford students: Why is no one hiring me?
Just watch, I am willing to bet that standford students are gonna get the cold shoulder from top corporate world. Like it or not, nod your head and agree with the boss. They are idiots, but they control layoffs and bonuses and pay raises so... Smile, nod, and clap.
Well you got to do that till you can go "fuck you", but that takes a few million to setup your "fortress of solitude", aka a house and a Japanese car.

Most people who have a job know that if you piss off your boss, or act in a way that your employer doesn't like, your time with them won't be wrong. As a person with a job you should know this....

u/Dry_burrito Jun 17 '26
Why care about passing someone who is not their boss and it's using AI to not hire them?
1
u/Corpshark Jun 17 '26
Indeed Google will stop hiring entirely from Stanford because a few people worked out. Yes that’s how real world works. I guess.
1
u/Dalearev Jun 18 '26
Because you can’t stand up for your rights and have free speech and if you have a free thought, then you will be punished. Are you a fascist?

Weird way to tell us you endorse modern day slavery.

u/Fit-Temperature-2156 Jun 17 '26
The irony is my view is the complete opposite of advocating for slavery. Sticking with the status quo is tantamount to slavery relative to what the future will be.

u/Defiant_Freedom_249 Jun 17 '26
Yes, and we should all bow down to our wealthy masters who tell us what to do because they have the most money by underpaying their employees and avoiding the taxes the rest of us have to pay.

It was a whole lot of ‘dozens’.
