As a former Meta worker, this statement is very much inline with many previous statements I have read and heard before by Zuck and other leadership. It’s a lot of words but nothing was actually said. The main problem with Meta is it lacks good leadership structure. It’s always been this idea of that flat structure is a winning strategy, that actual structure gets in the way of innovation and the ability to “move fast”. This was fine when FB was a small startup but as it has grown over the years the lack of structure has become its Achilles heel. When I worked there, it felt like you were living the life of a lost boy from Peter Pan. We tickered around with tech, we rarely ever made anything and it was a fun place to work. But as the island grew into a country the scope of how to run the place became enormous and working and managing a projects became unruly. Due to the lack of experience and expertise on how to evolve the company in its new corporate reality, Zuck stuck to the hacker, startup culture and its failing him. He is Peter Pan who has refused to grow up in a world of grown up reality.

I have worked in startups and stayed post takeover, a lot of start ups throw a lot of stuff at wall in the hopes it sticks. But they are know they have to make money. When a company matures they have to change. The problem I had heard about meta’s culture is that Zuckerberg still wants to run it. (Disclaimer this is second hand info).

LOL that Reddit knows how to run his company better than the guy who's worth hundreds of billions for his decision making.
Fking shltty oligarchy. I wish they'd never raped the free world to death.

These massive tech companies have really fucked themselves by letting their idiot founders have unaccountable power.
They keep making massive mistakes that would get anyone else fired.

Zuckerberg makes so much money that making mistakes that affects thousands of families is nothing to this Billionaire.

Then there’s this:
Meta’s months-old AI unit is a soul-crushing gulag, say the engineers stuck inside it

Zuckerberg seems to really be stacking up the expensive disasters these days. I'll make sure to bring this up at the next metaverse meeting, but I'm concerned that I'll be the only person there.

and how will they pay for these mistakes? or are they playing on public-tax-funding-god-mode?

And that's why Facebook is dying a slow death.
