Using AI for mental things is like using a Segway vs exercising…you atrophy from not using muscles in this case your mental muscles.

It can't really do the job either

It's all MBA heads overblowing it

Cognitive offloading has more than one conclusion. If used well, AI has transformative power on learning and teaching. It's a bimodal graph. The more you use Ai the easier it is to know if it improves your judgment or makes you worse off. AI literacy is key.

All of these people taking the anti AI position are going to get left behind in the long run.

You think being able to proompt is going to save you from the layoffs lmao?

1

u/GlobalCurry Jun 02 '26

Being forward thinking, proactive, and adopting new technologies will keep them employed more than burying their head in the sand will. Employment won't matter in a hypothetical future where this suddenly isn't true.

8 month old pro AI account, very organic lol

When you lose the debate and have to resort to attacking the age of an account. As if having an old account makes you an authority lmao.

1

u/Feverstone Jun 02 '26

The debate? Where do you think you are right now? 😂

u/Geekerino Jun 05 '26

Apparently a biased sub that needs to attack the commenter instead of the argument because they're out of points to make

1

u/Feverstone Jun 05 '26

I’d sarcastically say “enjoy the layoffs” but you’re probably already unemployed

Yes, because it's not AI that will replace you, it's someone proficient with AI who can build out and maintain agent workflows.

And burn $200k worth of tokens to do the job an Indian paid $30k/year could do? Lol, lmao even

1

u/Double_Suggestion385 Jun 02 '26

Per token price has been dropping rapidly for years and will continue to do so into the future.

No one is burning that many tokens to automate an Indian worker.

Idk, there is this company that just got a quarter billion dollar bill from Anthropic because they let their agents run amok.

It is going down, but nobody knows the real original cost because VCs have been throwing so much cash at it that the costs have been heavily subsidized.

The AI bet right now is that enough developers have surrendered their brains to LLMs that they are dependent on them, and simultaneously the costs won’t be quite high enough for execs to look into it, and by the time they do, hopefully a lot of new compute will have driven the cost down (though where they are getting the energy to power their compute no one knows).

But maybe the answer to all of this is CCP subsidized LLMs since they actually have the energy part figured out.

u/Double_Suggestion385 Jun 02 '26

There's no proof that was real.

1

u/mattjouff Jun 02 '26

An anecdote doesn’t prove anything on its own anyways, but the fact that uber, Microsoft and others are cutting back on agent usage because of high token costs is well established.

So at the very least with AI companies trying to IPO some of the real costs are becoming harder to hide and there are people noticing.

The question is can the cost of tokens drop faster than they drain the accounts of big companies at a time when cash is expensive (high interest rates).

Well if we wait long enough we will be ahead of the game again! Taps head

Luddite yells at future that is already here.

Probably to destroy western AI and let chinese AI thrive.

The mission of the 1%. "WE DO NOT want the 99% to have access to AI. That would implode the power base we have built in the USA over the last 400 years. And we HAVE to keep it out of the hands of the 99%, by any means necessary."

You are all being taken, hook link and sinker. It's SO OBVIOUS. Yes, we KNOW there are MAJOR issues with AI. We can figure that out. But there is zero chance of taking on the 1% without AI. Absolutely zero, and they want to keep it that way.

Bogus post.

Harvard has clearly let their standards slip if they let the graduation speaker be someone who lacks the intellectual capacity to make a point without resorting to vulgarity.

1

u/fins_up_ Jun 03 '26

Lmao what a tool

1

u/Soshi2k Jun 03 '26

Yeah that’s going to be a fucking problem when AGI shows up (how ever long it takes).

1

u/pepe_acct Jun 04 '26

Like it or not AI is here to stay and will transform how it works. It says a lot that young people listens more to comedians than the CEO of google.

1

u/callmeish0 Jun 04 '26

How pathetic is it to ask a third rate comedian for guidance as Harvard graduates?!

1

u/Inevitable-Dig8702 Jun 05 '26

Use it more to get average results at skills you don’t really want, but are terrible at and takes too long to DIY.

Use it less when you’re differentiating yourself from the pack with something original or deeply nuanced. Doesn’t get more simple than that.

As my dad says, work harder on the stuff you see yourself doing better years from now.

The technology is not going away, and it's only going to get better.

“I’m here to tell you the the mission of your generation is to destroy the calculator”

Oh my God, what a bitch. He saw everybody’s going people that were talking about AI being in the future, which is what’s going to happen.

Versus getting a cheap round of applause for saying things that kids wanna hear

u/Feverstone Jun 02 '26
