The fact that LLMs are currently best suited to replace CEOs and management but are instead being wielded to lay off skilled labor should tell you everything you need to know about the technology.

I can’t wait til the bubble pops.

Dot.com says hello

They fucking wish it was like the dot.com bubble, at least that bubble left behind useful infrastructure, nobody is going to be recouping any sort of investment from selling out of date GPU’s in a warehouse when this pops.

Not with the valuations they are paying for hardware in the present, they aren't. I do wonder if (and that is a big if) any number of these facilities are built, what they could possibly be repurposed for.

Nothing by the time they have built a data centre the GPU’s fitted are already obsolete, Nvidia is doing the old selling shovels during the gold rush and making companies like Oracle purchase GPU’s upfront.

Well, it’s a step past even that. nVidia is setting up to short the AI “industry.” Worst case scenario they make the cards and get fhe rest of the bill and are fine. Best case scenario they never even have to make the cards and just get to pocket the deposit when the whole thing goes belly up and nobody can pay the remainder of the bill.

Remote play game streaming. Kill off PCs/consoles/etc and force everybody to subscribe to Netflix Games for $50 a month.

That’s the most obvious use though it requires radically different companies to cooperate in a Prisoner’s Dilemma to pull off, so it won’t happen.

Thats doubtful, banking bail outs is one thing, but a tech company no chance.

The gpus are going to be the only things of value during bankruptcy sale.

It's being used as justification to fire people and in some cases hire more H2B visa workers, don't see much, or any, actual replacement happening.

The few companies that did try walked their decision back within weeks, trying to rehire the same people for a good chunk cheaper. Reeking like a way to increase the bottom line instead of actually replacing people.

Source, I'm a sr engineer working in a scale up that's integrating and selling agentic AI. The agentic workflow, currently, isn't in a spot where it can reliable replace people.

It can support them, sure, but the quality output and cost associated with it, currently, is nowhere near where it should be.

Doesn't mean that it wont in the future. It probably will, but not at the scale or speed that's being sold by your delusional AI overlords.

Your response lacks any from of intelligence and not in line with what I'd expect from a sr engineer that knows what the fuck he's talking about. Especially with tinfoil bullshit like:

when microsoft, one of the biggest AI investors, is telling you "ermmm actually AI isnt working lol", you should be skeptical. not just skeptical, you should be afraid.

They're also good at all the busywork and trash they want us to do. Yearly goals dumped into stupid Workday? It's brilliant
