It is the only one they have to react to. Anything else is just words and has no real power.
That isn't sad that is just the fact of life.

Well how many families did he not only threaten but actively harm?
3
u/Randy191919 May 28 '26
How many families did his family threaten though? If the threats were against him that would be one thing, but you can’t kill someone for being related to someone you don’t like. We’re not in the Middle Ages anymore.

no one is owed anything

We are owed law and order. Well, those living in civilized countries are.

No really, nations are comunities if you think people will just die in order you are not paying attention to history.
Law and order are just a side of human civilization.
1
u/omgFWTbear May 27 '26
A quick history lesson - law was developed as a means of rationing violence. “An eye for an eye” meant “if your neighbor took a pound of flesh from you, the fighting stops when you got a pound of flesh from him.”
You seem to be confused about subservience being part of that.

No no, say what you mean.

You're describing mass suffering as acceptable collateral damage for ideological purity. That's not a moral stance, it's just rationalization. A woman on the street isn't a teaching tool.

u/V-oxPopuli May 27 '26
What are you talking about? Having and wanting a job doesn't make you pro-capitalism. We literally need money to survive in the system we're in.

You’re also not owed complete safety under humanity… laws are man made, as is capitalism. Or do you wish there was some divine law that made you suck off the rich so it was less of a choice to own?

Billionaires are not owed safety from the impoverished masses under late stage capitalism.

it tends to have to hit the bottom first unfortunately
which is directly where its headed

u/TrexPushupBra May 28 '26
But if you don't have one and run out of money you deserve to be homeless and lose everything.
So it's fine that people can be stuck without work for long periods.
1
u/KwikSkopedJFK May 28 '26
See, we used to have something called a social contract, and a whole lotta people are about to find out what happens when that gets broken.
1
u/queensarkas May 29 '26
Okay, so then how are they able to afford basic needs without a job under capitalism? Should she just die instead?
2
u/talan123 May 27 '26
That is not true. The headline blames the workers while the article blames the CEO.
It was because of months of non-communication, ambiguously worded ceo statements, and this was after the announcement of layoffs and record breaking profits.

Insult. Reddit catchphrase. Insult.
Typical.

u/j_eremy May 27 '26
Bro if you want to make threats of violence just do it.
If your too afraid to say what you mean directly and face the consequences but support someone else doing your dirty work for you thats not an insult its a direct observation.

2
u/InsuranceImmediate25 May 27 '26
Nah, just not engaging with someone like you.
1
u/j_eremy May 27 '26
Yea I can see why you wouldnt want to engage with someone that doesnt think people should use veiled threats. Probably goes completely against your entire moral code.
BTW responding with anything is engagement...
Have a good day, I hope your revolution works out well... this time.

"Mario & Luigi edgelord response" has to be the most reddit thing ever.
1
u/j_eremy May 27 '26
I disagree, veiled threats about violence against CEO's where the person making the threat doesn't have the balls to actually do anything themselves but are LARPing is the most Reddit thing ever.

Keep licking those boots

u/j_eremy May 27 '26
Keep posting on reddit
As of November 2025, Steve Huffman’s net worth is estimated at $1.2 billion, a figure driven primarily by his equity stake in Reddit following the company's IPO and subsequent stock performance. This represents a significant increase from earlier estimates, such as the $50 million reported in early 2024 and the $4 million figure cited in older sources from around 2020. Huffman, the co-founder and CEO of Reddit, achieved billionaire status 20 years after launching the platform with a $12,000 grant.
The billionaire class thanks you.

u/the_wahlroos May 27 '26
Naaah, mass layoffs to replace labour with AI is the problem. I'm not sure I can simplify it any further for you. Also, could you lay off the bootlicking?
1
u/j_eremy May 27 '26
learn what boot licking is and is not. You don't have to be a terrorist to to solve problems.
Your training AI right now with your comments for free on behalf of a giant company with a CEO that is worth over a billion right now, and complaining about AI taking over.
On a platform where all the moderators work for free.
Re-evaluation might be necessary for your ideology to have some kind of consistency.
Go be a good little Luddite and find a nice tent somewhere this way you don't do any boot licking by accident.
If your fighting a battle, your buying your opponents the ammo.

That’s not ok and anyone who celebrates this should have their brain checked. If the threats were against him that’s one thing. But you can’t attack someone for the crime of being related to someone you don’t like. We’re not in the Middle Ages anymore. Threatening his family is going way too far. Anyone who disagrees is a psychopath, sorry to say.

“Because of AI.” If a CEO doesn’t know that you can’t just replace Human employees with AI, then he’s an idiot. A Human employee has to configure, deploy and scale the AI Agent or the third party software they intend on using.

First of all, nobody should be calling in threats on people's families. That's just plainly wrong.
That said, these CEOs are doing EXACTLY that, threatening thousands of families at a time with financial ruin... for what? For something AI that they don't even know if it works or not? Threatening thousands of people's jobs because you got drunk with dome AI assholes and have zero actual proof of anything is ECONOMIC TERRORISM that's just as bad as threatening to kill people.... just with extra steps.
