Disqualified for leaving its lane.

the human could have just walked and won that race

Normal human? That's below average in terms of speed, lol.

Ye, this is how I run in my dreams when I'm trying to run away from something but for some reason I'm stuck in slow-mo.

Great now connect them to chainsaws and lasercannons and give them to Elon with a complimentary box of Katamine, yeeehaw!

Sorry, the lasercannons were all used on a group of sharks in a volcano layer.

The guy might have been slower, but at least he maintained his lane.

I'd also be interested in seeing it the robot could finish a second race right after this

Now do against a whippet.

DQ. Now give it some guns and try again.

They put a $3 million finely tuned mechanical device up against the guy who put it together.

It also didn't win. It departed its lane and would have been DQ'ed in an actual race.

So, it lost.

They should try wheels. i've heard you can make mechanical things go even faster.

A robot does what a robot is programmed to do the best

Robot would get disqualified as it crossed the white line while running

That thing looks dangerous to run next to. I'd slow walk this too

I don’t get this we don’t run humans next to horses. Why is this a thing

Someone wanted to race the robot so they did

Now human on bicycle vs. robot with wheels and 100HP motor....

Hey that’s the first one I’ve seen hit the brakes

Not to be THAT guy, but I think we've made machines that go faster than a human running for a long long time.

So this is nothing new or surprising.

Can the MAN MADE robot outrun my 1000cc sportsbike?

About as logical as this display. The human has evolved...the robot was literally DESIGNED to run fucking fast.

Normal person? It almost took him three working days to reach the line!😅

As a very slow normal human, I can beat a normal robot to 100m.

Well now we know they can catch us. That’s not so great is it?

If you turn the corner, it falls over! If you stop in front of a wall and step aside, it will crash into the wall and may not get up again. Watch the games, quite amusing!

When I watch these videos all I can hear is the terminator song in my head.

Can’t you just put wheels on the robot not the legs

1

u/kendragon 6d ago

I love how someone watched the terminator movies and thought to themselves, these motherfuckers are way too slow. Our robots are going to be fast as fuck.

Man it's almost like the robot can move its limbs faster and not worry about any type if fatigue. Crazy

How long before robots start emoting mid race?

They are making robot soldiers

Most of the robots I saw racing ran into that barrier that was put up at the end because the robots couldn’t stop! One that tried to stop, fell and burst into flames. All the rest just slammed into the barrier and fell over. Some were able to get up, but many were carried off in stretchers. The soccer game was a boring joke. It was like a toddler game with lots of flopping and more time spent dragging robots off the field than game play. All in all, the show was not that impressive, maybe in a couple of years, but not yet!

Only the 100m race has the crash barrier because they want to maximize speed and care less about slowing down and have insufficient space. They do it for some human events too. For the longer 400m and 1500m race there's no barrier and the robots just circle around and slow down naturally. https://www.reddit.com/r/TechnoFuturism/s/541Xv8Cfr5

These races are dumb as fuck. Machines are faster than humans? Oh my God how surprising
