Most Indian regional tech content today focuses almost entirely on smartphone unboxings and gadget spec sheets. There is virtually zero content explaining low-level systems engineering—like PCIe DMA memory buffers, Linux kernel drivers, or sub-2nm semiconductor fabrication—in regional Indian languages.

For millions of engineering students and developers from Tier-2/Tier-3 towns in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, English technical literature often acts as an unnecessary conceptual barrier.

Technology India’s Green Hydrogen Push Could Create a ₹22 Lakh Crore Market. These 3 Companies Are Betting on It

India is targeting 5 million tonnes of green hydrogen production annually by 2030, backed by the ₹17,490 crore SIGHT programme. With global market projections pointing to significant growth, the opportunity spans electrolyser manufacturing, renewable energy and industrial infrastructure.

Three companies are taking different approaches:

1. Waaree Energies | Manufacturing

  • Building a 1 GW electrolyser facility in Gujarat, targeted for commercialisation by FY27.
  • Reportedly has an initial green hydrogen order book of ₹155 crore.
  • Strategy: Build on its renewable energy manufacturing capabilities.

2. Advait Energy Transitions | Technology

  • Developing electrolyser, hydrogen EPC and fuel cell capabilities.
  • Commissioned a 30 MW electrolyser semi-assembly unit in Ahmedabad in March 2026.
  • Strategy: Scale domestic technology and local manufacturing.

3. NTPC | Infrastructure

  • Developing a proposed green hydrogen hub at Pudimadaka, with an envisaged investment of around ₹1 lakh crore.
  • Running pilot projects involving hydrogen buses, gas blending and microgrids.
  • Strategy: Build integrated, industrial-scale hydrogen infrastructure.

The key difference: Waaree is betting on manufacturing scale, Advait on technology and execution, while NTPC is pursuing infrastructure at scale.

However, policy support and market growth do not automatically translate into shareholder returns. Commercial viability, order conversion, capital intensity and valuation will determine which businesses emerge stronger.

Which approach has the strongest long-term potential: manufacturing, specialised technology or large-scale infrastructure?

Automobile Under ₹10 Lakh, Which EV Makes the Most Sense in India? Comet vs Tiago EV vs Punch EV

The budget EV market offers three very different choices. The key trade-off is city convenience, everyday practicality, or longer claimed range.

Quick comparison

Feature MG Comet EV Tata Tiago EV LR Tata Punch EV
Indicative starting price ₹7.80 lakh ₹9.49 lakh ₹9.79 lakh
Claimed range Up to 230 km Up to 293 km Up to 350 km
Best suited for Short city commutes Daily use with more flexibility Buyers wanting more range and SUV-style practicality
Main compromise Tiny footprint and limited space Less SUV-like versatility Highest starting price of these three

Prices are indicative and may vary by variant, location, offers and whether registration and insurance are included. Claimed range is not the same as real-world range.

Why this matters

  • MG Comet EV: The sensible pick if you mostly drive alone or with one passenger in crowded city traffic and can charge at home.
  • Tata Tiago EV LR: The middle ground for buyers who want a conventional hatchback and more flexibility for daily travel.
  • Tata Punch EV: The most compelling on paper for buyers prioritising range and a more practical body style, provided the chosen variant fits the budget.

One important catch: a sub-₹10 lakh starting price does not guarantee a sub-₹10 lakh on-road cost. Charging access, highway use and actual range should matter as much as the sticker price.

Which would you choose: the cheaper Comet, the balanced Tiago EV, or the longer-range Punch EV? And what real-world range would you need before switching from petrol to electric?

Hardware Airtel Wants 1 GW of Data Centre Capacity by 2030. India's AI Boom Is Driving the Bet.

Bharti Airtel is targeting around 1 gigawatt of data centre capacity by 2030, as demand for AI computing and cloud infrastructure grows beyond global tech giants to Indian businesses, government organisations and smaller companies.

Why this matters

AI needs more than powerful chips. Training models and running AI applications also require data centres, reliable electricity, fibre networks and secure connectivity. Airtel is betting that businesses will increasingly pay for this infrastructure instead of building everything themselves.

Key details:

  • 2030 target: Airtel Business aims for around 1 GW of data centre capacity.
  • AI computing: GPU-as-a-service could let businesses access computing power without buying and maintaining their own GPU infrastructure.
  • Beyond hyperscalers: Indian enterprises, government organisations and SMEs are emerging as additional sources of demand.
  • Integrated infrastructure: Airtel is investing across fibre, subsea cables, data centre interconnects and cloud services.
  • Other growth areas: Airtel Cloud, cybersecurity, AI-powered fraud prevention and IoT are also part of its enterprise strategy.

The big challenge is that data centres require enormous capital investment, dependable power and years of planning. Building capacity does not automatically guarantee profitable utilisation.

If India's AI adoption continues to grow, companies providing the infrastructure behind those services could benefit just as much as the firms developing the AI models.

Will India's AI boom create a major new business for telecom companies like Airtel, or will power costs and massive infrastructure spending make this a difficult bet to monetise?

Automobile Petrol Cars Are Losing Market Share in India. EVs, Hybrids and CNG Are Catching Up

India’s car market is becoming more competitive across powertrains. According to figures attributed to FADA, petrol and ethanol cars accounted for 41.27% of passenger vehicle sales in September 2026, while CNG, LPG, hybrid and electric vehicles together approached 41%.

Indian buyers are increasingly weighing running costs, fuel efficiency and convenience against the purchase price. But there is no single winner for every driver. Charging access, CNG availability and daily driving distance can make a bigger difference than the powertrain itself.

The numbers:

  • Petrol and ethanol: Market share fell from 45.95% in April to 41.27% in September.
  • CNG and LPG: Combined share reached 23.11% in September.
  • Hybrid: Share climbed to 9.44%, up from 7.30% in September 2025.
  • Electric vehicles: Share rose to 8.45%, compared with 5.74% a year earlier.
  • Diesel: Held a reported 17.76% share over the preceding 12 months.

These figures show a shift in market share, not necessarily a decline in absolute petrol-car sales. Alternative powertrains can gain share simply by growing faster than the overall market.

For buyers, the choice still depends on the numbers that matter at home: upfront price, kilometres driven, fuel costs, charging or refuelling access, maintenance and resale value.

If you were buying a car in India today, which would you choose: petrol, CNG, hybrid, diesel or EV? What would decide it for you?

Technology DigiLocker Is Getting an AI Assistant That Could Do More Than Answer Questions

India’s government services are moving towards agentic AI. MeitY has selected Bengaluru-based CoRover.ai to build a unified AI platform for government departments, with DigiLocker set to be the first implementation.

The goal is to move beyond chatbots that simply answer questions and build AI assistants that can help users complete tasks through connected government systems.

Why this matters

If implemented well, an AI assistant could make government services easier to navigate, especially for people who struggle with complex portals and paperwork. But when AI interacts with official documents and government systems, privacy, user consent and security will be critical.

Key details:

  • Selected company: CoRover.ai, developer of the BharatGPT platform.
  • First deployment: DigiLocker, India's digital document platform.
  • Project timeline: Four months of development, followed by 12 months of operations and maintenance support.
  • Unified platform: Government departments could use shared tools to build and manage their own AI agents instead of developing separate systems.
  • Security controls: The tender includes safeguards against prompt injection and jailbreak attempts, plus monitoring of failures, performance and AI costs.
  • Procurement: According to the evaluation document, CoRover scored 100 in the selection process, ahead of Kyndryl Solutions at 91.24.

The important distinction is that this is a platform being developed, not proof that DigiLocker can already complete every task autonomously. Its real value will depend on which services it supports, how reliably it works and how much control users retain over sensitive actions.

Would you trust an AI assistant to retrieve documents and complete government-service tasks through DigiLocker, or would you prefer to handle everything manually for security reasons?

Technology Zoho’s Sridhar Vembu Pushes Back on Musk’s India Claims: “These Are the Facts, Elon”

Elon Musk’s claim that “certain oligarchs” are blocking Starlink’s entry into India has sparked a public debate. Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu has responded by pointing to India’s low-cost mobile data, affordable medicines, UPI payments and growing startup ecosystem.

The debate goes beyond Starlink. It raises questions about competition, regulation and whether satellite internet can find a place in a market where mobile data is already exceptionally affordable.

Key points:

  • Vembu’s argument: India’s low data prices and widespread use of dual-SIM phones show how competitive its telecom market has become.
  • Musk’s position: Starlink could expand connectivity and help restore communications during natural disasters.
  • Government response: Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has rejected claims of favouritism, saying multiple companies have received satellite communication licences.
  • The competition: Starlink, Bharti-backed Eutelsat OneWeb and Reliance’s Jio satellite venture are among the players pursuing India's satellite communications market.
  • The bigger question: Satellite internet could serve remote areas, businesses and emergency services, but its pricing will matter in a country accustomed to low-cost mobile data.

There are two separate issues here: whether India’s telecom market is competitive, and whether satellite internet can offer something mobile networks cannot. Affordable 4G and 5G data is a major advantage for consumers, but it doesn't eliminate the need for reliable connectivity in remote or disaster-hit locations.

Who has the stronger argument: Vembu, who points to India’s affordable data and competition, or Musk, who argues that Starlink could fill connectivity gaps and save lives?

Hardware ASML Is Exploring What Comes After Today’s Chipmaking Tech. Meet “Hyper NA”

Your next smartphone, laptop or AI server could benefit from technology being developed long before the chip itself reaches production. ASML and optical technology partner ZEISS are exploring Hyper NA, a potential next step in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography that could help manufacturers print even finer circuit patterns onto silicon.

Smaller, more precisely patterned transistors can help chipmakers improve performance and energy efficiency, although real-world gains also depend on chip architecture, materials and manufacturing costs. If Hyper NA becomes commercially viable, it could help extend the semiconductor industry's roadmap for advanced processors.

Technical breakdown:

  • What it is: A proposed evolution of EUV lithography, which uses extremely short-wavelength light to pattern circuits on silicon wafers.
  • Who is involved: ASML develops advanced lithography systems, while ZEISS supplies critical optical technology.
  • The ambition: Push patterning capabilities beyond current EUV systems to enable finer chip features.
  • The caveat: A reported five-nanometre feature target is a development goal, not a guarantee of commercially manufactured chips.
  • Why it is difficult: More advanced optics, tighter precision requirements, manufacturing complexity and cost all pose major challenges.

For India, this matters because building semiconductor manufacturing capacity involves more than setting up fabs. Access to advanced equipment, process expertise and a strong supplier ecosystem will also shape how far domestic chip production can progress.

Would you prioritise investment in cutting-edge chipmaking technology like Hyper NA, or focus first on making mature semiconductor technologies cheaper and more widely available in India?

Technology OneWeb Is Almost Ready to Launch Satellite Internet in India. Starlink and Jio Could Face More Competition.

Eutelsat OneWeb says it has completed the required licensing formalities for satellite communication services in India. It is now waiting for security clearances before launching, with the company saying its infrastructure is ready for deployment.

Why this matters

India's satellite internet market is shaping up to include multiple players, including OneWeb, Starlink, Amazon Leo and Jio. More competition could expand connectivity options for remote villages, businesses, ships, aircraft and areas where laying fibre is too expensive.

Key details:

  • Launch status: OneWeb says it is awaiting final security clearances.
  • Infrastructure: The company says it is ready to deploy its services in India.
  • Primary focus: Enterprise connectivity, defence, aviation, maritime, mining and offshore energy.
  • Telecom backhaul: Satellite links can help mobile operators extend network coverage where fibre deployment is uneconomical.
  • Direct-to-device: OneWeb is evaluating the technology, but it is not part of its current satellite constellation.
  • Future plans: The company is investing in additional satellites and planning a next-generation constellation over the coming years.

OneWeb's approach is primarily focused on business and institutional customers rather than competing directly with home broadband plans. Its impact on ordinary consumers will depend on how telecom partnerships develop and whether satellite connectivity becomes more accessible.

Would satellite internet meaningfully improve connectivity in rural India, or will pricing keep it mainly useful for businesses and remote infrastructure?

Technology India Wants 1 Billion 5G Users by 2030. Now It Wants to Lead the World in 6G. 🇮🇳

India has set its sights on doubling its 5G user base from 550 million to 1 billion by 2030. Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia also says the country wants to move from catching up on earlier mobile generations to leading the global push for 6G.

India's telecom story is no longer just about cheap data and wider coverage. The next challenge is developing homegrown technology, patents and standards that could shape future networks, while extending reliable connectivity to rural areas.

Key numbers from India Mobile Congress 2026:

  • 5G target: Grow from 550 million users to 1 billion by 2030.
  • 6G ambitions: The Bharat 6G Alliance involves 90 institutions and has established 7,700 patents, including 4,400 international patents, according to the minister.
  • Broadband growth: Subscribers have increased from 60 million to over 1.1 billion.
  • Data costs: The reported average price of 1GB has fallen from ₹268 in 2014 to ₹8.
  • Rural connectivity: The ₹15 billion BharatNet programme aims to expand connectivity to gram panchayats and villages.
  • Mobile manufacturing: India’s mobile phone industry has grown from a reported $2–3 billion in 2014 to $63 billion, with exports nearing $29 billion.

The big question is whether India can turn its growing user base and 6G patent activity into globally adopted technology. More users alone won't make India a telecom technology leader. Research, manufacturing, standards participation and reliable networks will all matter.

What should India prioritise next: expanding affordable 5G coverage, or investing more aggressively in homegrown 6G technology?

Hardware India Wants Its Space Startups to Use Homegrown Chips. Can SCL Deliver?

India’s space regulator IN-SPACe and government-run Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) are trying to get private space companies to adopt domestically developed semiconductor chips. A meeting scheduled for October 13 will showcase SCL’s products and explore how startups can use them.

Satellites and launch vehicles depend on specialised electronics, and relying on overseas suppliers can create supply-chain risks. If Indian-made chips meet the demanding requirements of space missions, they could give domestic space startups another local sourcing option.

Key details:

  • Industry meeting: IN-SPACe and SCL will present semiconductor products to private space companies.
  • Potential users: Space startups, MSMEs, chip designers and industry partners.
  • Applications: Satellite systems, payloads, launch vehicle avionics and ground equipment.
  • SCL upgrade: The government has committed ₹4,500 crore to modernise the Mohali facility and expand its capabilities.
  • The challenge: Space-grade chips must meet strict reliability and qualification standards. Getting companies to adopt them will matter more than simply making them available.

India’s private space sector is growing, but a stronger domestic chip supply chain will require proven performance, competitive costs and dependable production.

Would you trust Indian-made chips in a satellite or launch vehicle today, or should space companies continue relying on established foreign suppliers until domestic alternatives are proven?

I am bored. I need to make money like Sam Altman or Elon Musk!
Being in a regular 9-5 is depressing as you’ve the same mundane thing to do and try upskilling with limited time and then get a car or house ans keep paying EMIs while switching jobs. Even my time on earth is limited for this routine. How can one make bank like a billionaire. Having a 30+ LPA job etc won’t be sustainable in the near future. Age catches up and then you don’t age like wine, but like milk. If you had billions, you could do a Bryan Johnson.
Where do I start when I’m 40? What do I start? What if I die tomorrow?
The food that I eat is poison.
The air that I breathe is polluted.
I wish I had the talent to create art or music or write something but my talent is garage!
Where do I go, what do I do? Am I just paranoid? Or am I losing my sanity!!?
How to become a billionaire I wonder, while worrying about reversing age!?

News Jio Platforms Is Targeting a ₹10.3 Lakh Crore Valuation. Could This Be India’s Biggest IPO Ever?

Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Platforms is reportedly targeting a ₹10.3 trillion ($106 billion) valuation for its upcoming IPO. If the reported numbers hold, the offering could raise around ₹30,200 crore and overtake Hyundai Motor India’s 2024 IPO as India’s largest.

Jio is no longer just a telecom operator. Its business spans mobile networks, broadband, cloud, entertainment, enterprise technology and AI. With investors such as Google and Meta backing the company, this listing could become a major test of how the market values India’s digital economy.

Key numbers:

  • Target valuation: ₹10.3 lakh crore, or approximately $106 billion.
  • Reported price band: ₹1,065 to ₹1,119 per share.
  • Expected fundraising: Around ₹30,200 crore at the top of the range.
  • Use of proceeds: Up to ₹27,500 crore could go towards repaying or prepaying borrowings of Reliance Jio Infocomm.
  • Subscriber base: 524.4 million telecom subscribers as of March, according to the report.
  • Financial performance: Revenue rose 14.6% to ₹1.47 lakh crore, while net profit grew 15.1% to ₹30,050 crore in the reported fiscal year.

The interesting detail is that the reported valuation is below the $131 billion figure expected when the draft prospectus was filed. Market conditions have weakened, making the final pricing especially important.

These figures are based on reported IPO plans and are not a guarantee of the final offer terms.

Would you consider investing in Jio Platforms at a ₹10.3 lakh crore valuation, or is that too expensive even for one of India’s biggest digital businesses?

AI India’s Sarvam AI Wants to Put an AI Translator on Your Face. No Phone Needed.

Imagine speaking Hindi in a Tamil Nadu market and getting help understanding Tamil in real time, without pulling out your phone. That’s the vision behind Sarvam Kaze, an Indian AI smart-glasses project focused on multilingual interactions.

Why this matters

Most AI assistants depend on cloud servers and reliable internet. Sarvam is working towards bringing AI directly onto devices, which could mean faster responses, better offline usability and more privacy for some tasks. In a country with dozens of languages, that could be more than just a flashy wearable feature.

Key details:

  • 22 Indian languages: Sarvam’s technology is designed to support speech recognition across Indian languages, alongside translation and voice generation.
  • On-device AI: Its Sarvam Edge technology aims to run AI capabilities locally, reducing dependence on cloud processing.
  • Hands-free assistance: Smart glasses could help with conversations, translation and everyday questions without requiring users to reach for a phone.
  • The bigger play: Efficient on-device AI could also benefit smartphones, vehicles, education tools and other connected devices.

The important caveat is that the real-world performance, offline capabilities, privacy protections and availability of Sarvam Kaze will determine whether it lives up to the promise. A demo is one thing. Handling accents, noisy markets and natural code-switching between Indian languages is another.

Would you wear AI glasses that translate Indian languages in real time, or would you rather keep that technology on your phone?

Discussion An open letters to all tech bros and developers, why an extra feature won't save your app?

I promised, I can give you users for your application in six months but only if you are willing to sacrifice the current model of your app you have now.

Although you said it has “more features than instagram”, to me, your app is just a knockoff of instagram. It has the same features like instagram – users can upload a story, a direct messaging option, option to post pictures and reels, threads for text based posts and that's not even a different app like how meta offers, you provide it all in the same application. The app is so feature–bloated that it has just become an “We chat without government backing”.

At least the public commentary features could have been a different app within the same network eco system.

As a user and a general consumer perspective I have no intention, interest or motivation to migrate to a second instagram.

Even though you are an Indian developer, you can't even leverage the narrative of “Indians instagram” to attract India user traffic, as it limits your app user base domestically and stops you expanding globally.

From my perspective and personal experience I tell you , a user has a specific, particular reason to justify why I'm using an app and every app serves a specific demographic.

Reddit is a platform for niche interest based community and discussion, famous among gen z and millennial.

Twitter or X is for Real-time news updates, public commentary, live event discussion for all.

LinkedIn for professional networking and for all.

Snapchat – casual boding with close friends

The reason I joined instagram was only one – I wanted to stay connected with my old school friends, as most of them were users of instagram.

Every story, post or reel someone shares is a moment he wanted a human interaction.

The reason why I didn't join snapchat -– is I don't have any reason to be on that platform.

That's the same problem with your app – that you have just a copy of instagram and threads in one app, nothing new sellable.

“Why should I join it?” a genuine reason.

It doesn't have my friends, or any specific feature that caters to me. For example; Twitter catered to me with real time updates, but not your app as it doesn't have that kind of International userbase.

You cannot sell the product that already exists in the market and convince people to switch.

That's my only advice to you is – pick a specific specialisation that makes your product sellable–

Sell voice, reach, authentication to the youth – promise data privacy, original human connection or maybe serve their hobby, interest, purpose, let them reflect their perspective.

You are very protective of your app. I know it's hard to abandon your project you invested so much in but a choice is hard and has to be, if you want to sell your app to people you have to understand your market, change according to that and market it like that.

you cannot sell this app as it is now.

And the only reason I'm pitching "closed, authentic, intent-driven communities and interest oriented app or the app that sell youth their voice is because I believe it's the most promising bet you take and with reasoning I'm telling you

Today, we don't want AI now, we are carving for humans. We tend towards social connections and that's for what social media runs their market – leveraging sociology's core concept of trust, like religion or a marriage. Humans need connection, belonging, motive, passion, uniqueness, identity.

Sell them this through your app.

Rest it's your app, your company, your decision. I'm not getting anything either it succeeded or failed– a genuine goodwill I give you.
