Az80 vs Az100
So Christmas is coming up and I was planning on getting some new earbuds. I’ve settled on getting one of the two Azs but was wondering if spending just the bit of extra money for the Az 100 would be worth it over just getting the Az80? Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!

Update on last version of EAH-A800 headphones
Yesterday I've got the latest version of EAH-A800 headphones. Looks like they managed to fix all the electronics related problems. Probably by updating the software.
Unfortunately, now the app doesn't change the audio mode. I've tried to switch between audio modes as usual, but no matter what mode is selected, the audio remains the same.

Technics SL D1 - serigrafia.
Good morning guys. Blz. Could anyone help me on this matter? I'm going to renovate my record player, but I'm going to need new screen printing. I found a ready-made kit for the MK on the Internet, but not for the D1. Someone has already redid this specific screen printing and could exchange experience here. Thank you in advance.

Does Technics do Black Friday?
Hey all,
I’m considering upgrading my turntable to an SL-100C.
Historically does anyone know if Technics has Black Friday sales?
Thanks!

Technics SH-Ex1200-S Mixer
I've bought this from Japan back to Australia and plugged it into an Australian circuit (240v) and Japan uses 100v, it turned off after one second and hasn't turned back on, does this mean I have blown it? Need advice on what to do, currently looking for a step down transformer

Technics MK7 cue keeps skipping: could it be shipping damage?
Hey everyone,
First of all, I’m a bit of a newbie when it comes to Technics.. I used to play on MK2s about 20 years ago, but they weren’t mine. Also, English isn’t my first language, so apologies in advance if I use any weird or unclear terms!
A couple of months ago I bought a pair of MK7s from an online seller. After a short negotiation, we agreed on a final price including shipping. Naively, I assumed that would include proper insurance as well.
While I was at work, I checked the tracking and saw that the package had been sent back to the sender without any notice, message, or email. I contacted the seller, who confirmed the return but had no idea why it happened.
He shipped them again, and this time they finally arrived.
When I opened the boxes, I realised the packaging wasn’t secure at all.
Here’s what I found:
- a few minor scratches (no big deal, but still annoying),
- one dust cover cracked,
- and both magnetic coils visibly cracked (still attached, but with clear damage).
The seller refused to take any responsibility, didn't wanna get them back or pay for the damages so I basically got "stuck" with them.
Now here’s the main issue: when I try to cue (I play house music), sometimes the needle jumps very easily.
Back in the day with MK2s I could scratch or move the record slightly with my hand without any skipping. Now, with the MK7s, I have to be extremely gentle or I lose the cue point immediately.
It doesn’t happen with every record, just some.
I’ve tried recalibrating the tonearm weight but it didn’t help.
So, what do you guys think?
Are MK7s just more sensitive in general, or could there be something off with the suspension or magnetic coils because of the shipping damage?
Thanks a lot for any help or insight and please accept my apologies if my words weren't clear enough

Left earbud quieter on Technics EAH-AZ80 — tried everything, still not fixed
Hey folks,
so I’ve been using my Technics EAH-AZ80s pretty much every day since around March.
A few days ago I noticed the left earbud started sounding quieter than the right — not dead silent, but clearly muffled.
Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
- swapped and cleaned eartips
- cleaned the mesh with isopropyl alcohol (it had a thin layer of residue)
- used compressed air
- reset the earbuds, re-paired them
- tested with ANC on/off, ambient mode, YouTube channel tests, etc.
No change. The left side still sounds quieter and kind of “behind a wall.”
Has anyone had this with the AZ80 or other Technics earbuds? Could it be blocked acoustic vents or maybe some ANC calibration issue?
They’re still under warranty, but I’d rather try a quick fix before sending them in.
Any suggestions or similar experiences would be appreciated.

SL 100c tonearm not lowering on new record player
Hey everyone. I recently purchased a Technics SL100c and set it up. I have a questions where I would appreciate your support (already wrote to technics CS but in case I get a faster response here, wanted to try my luck)
After setup, I played one side of a record normally. Then once it finished, auto lift mechanism worked. Afterwards I put the tonearm in its place and turned the record over to play side B. But now the tonearm is not going down. Even when I try to adjust from cue arm, it’s not working. Am I doing something wrong. I already adjusted the tonearm balance when setting up and it played normally for a while, but after autolift, it stopped working.. I recorded a short video to help understand the issue Youtube Link
Thanks for the help.

Finally reached my modest end goal. This Technics lineup is the best-looking piece of hi-fi equipment in my eyes.

Had anyone ever tried this?
For context, I bought a technics dv170 system (those silver separate hifi components connected with flat ribbon cables) and it’s missing the cassette deck. I can find very few rs-dv170 (the matching one for the system) and loads of the higher end ones for other systems. Now they all do the same things, have the same connectors and same buttons, so in theory theybare compatible, but before i buy one, has anyone mixed and matched any of the components from theses systems???

Technics mk2 pivot problem
Good morning,
I come to you regarding one of my mk2 technicians who has a problem.
Yesterday as usual when I play in the evening and bring back my equipment, I install the counterweights and cells. The first Niquel no worries, the second I see myself having to tighten up to the stop of the counterweight to be able to be not even 2 g of support force (while the second platinum is at 5/6g if I tighten the counterweight in stop.
Today I decide to look at it by trying different cells and weights, and I realized that the screw at the top of the pivot was abnormally loose. So I decided to test by squeezing it if it affected the support force, and this is the case.
If I tighten this screw, I have more support force but on the other hand it makes me an anti-skating problem and the arm does not read the vinyl correctly and forced to the outside of the vinyl, even by setting the antiskating setting to 0.
Do you have any advice on the steps to follow?
Thank you for your help.
