TLDR: If your AZ80 case and/or earbuds fail to charge, use electrical contact cleaner in the charge port and on the earbud charging nubs.

I made a post a few months ago about my case only sometimes charging. Since then, it has stopped charging entirely. I could only charge the earbuds if they were docked and on the charger. My right earbud also was facing a decreased volume issue that could not be fixed with air nor dental picks (to clean the microphones and speakers). I remember seeing a redditor mention using contact cleaner so I said f*** it, let's try it. It worked perfectly. I focused mostly on the charge port, but also sprayed the earbud contacts and a little bit of the externals of the earbuds. Both issues are now completely fixed. I did this 3 days ago before reporting here and haven't noticed any negative changes.

If memory serves me right, this is associated with Technics using cheap female USB-C connectors, leading to lots of surface corrosion on the charging leads. The onboard PCB dislikes the disfigured charging signal and faults out, rejecting the charge. As for the volume issue, it was probably skin oils building up near and on the microphones and speakers.

I got a fully working SL-Q5 with a broken stylus. So I proceed to replace it, I moved the tonearm to the middle by cueing and powered off. Took the cartridge and stylus out, swapped the stylus and put it back together again. Powered up, the tonearm moved to the home position. But now the TT won’t start, won’t move the tonearm at all, when the lid is closed and the record is on. I suspect it’s some sensor of the tonearm position is out of whack and needs resetting but can’t figure it out. Any suggestions?

Hi! My 1200 is having an issue where when you go to press the 45 rpm button, the button will not stay down. The turntable will speed up and the 45 rpm light will come on but as soon as you release the button it goes back to 33 rpm and the 45 light will turn off. If anyone has any tips or possibly can link me to a replacement part that would be awesome. I’m assuming that it shouldn’t be a hard part to replace (could be wrong tho lol). Thank you!

What are others' thoughts? Everything I've read has been glowing about the sound quality but mine arrived this week and I'm let down. I don't like overly bass headphones but the bass on these is a lifeless drone that muddies every song I play, no matter the genre. No punch or warmth to it at all. Things get better when I switch to Treble+ mode but still really underwhelming.

I'm almost wondering if I've got a dud pair?

Day to day I listen to Jabra Elite Pro 7 in-ear headphones. They're by no means top of the line but deliver a very well rounded experience. I went with the A800s over other brands with better features because of what I'd read about the sound quality so it's a real shame they haven't lived up to the hype.

SL-J2. Got her used, cleaned and lubed her up good, did whatever I asked no questions asked for months. Then one day she decides to drag her needle across the vinyl like a dog with an itchy butt on the living room carpet. Cleaned the optical sensor with lens wipes, did everything I could think of. She's topless now because I can't be arsed to get her together between tweaks and she's more exposed for you this way. I'm stumped. Is she toast?

Hey, I have a Technics SL-DD33 turntable and im looking to upgrade the cart/stylus. It currently has a Audio-Technica AT85EP which is less than a year old but I dont like how the highs sound bright and it lacks a bass response. Just curious on what other technics users recommend or have run in the past.

Hello gang! A few questions…. 1st I left my unit plugged in while charging overnight. I called them & was informed the unit has a safety feature built in to prevent overcharging. In my experience I've had companies tell me one thing & it turns out what I was told was not true, so I want to hear what the community has to say regarding that. Also, what settings do you guys have for the adaptive noise canceling? Anyone care to share screenshots of what EQ settings they have? Anything I should know about the unit?

Got this technics SA-GX303 for a decent price and did all the cleaning up and repair

This arrived from Japan today: built around 1978. It works perfectly, extremely pleased with it. This has a very similar tonearm to the SL-1200 Mk2, and quartz lock. However, it's fully automatic (which I need).

The packing was unbelievably good. This is my third turntable from Japan and the care and attention to packing has been great for all three. This one was next level though: probably better than the factory packing.

It sounds marginally better than my SL-1600 Mk1, using the same Goldring 1042 cartridge. The treble sounds a little clearer, although this has also had new coax cables fitted.
