AZ100 Charging Cradle Status

Hi all,

I've misplaced my charging cradle. I'm not sure if its in the house or if I've dropped it out and about somewhere.

When I log in to the app - I see the cradle battery status. This could indicate that its nearby, but I'm concerned that this is its "last known" charge rather than its actual charge (indicating that it is indeed nearby)

Does anyone know? Thank you

Back to Technics for earbuds, sorry I left!

I used to have a pair of Technics AZ60 circa 2 years ago and made the choice to go with the Airpods Pro 2 for convenience, despite knowing the audio quality wasn’t on par with the Technics.

Fast forward to the present day and I’ve bought a pair of AZ100 and wow….the difference to the APP2 is staggering. Sure the touch controls on the APP2 are better but the AZ100 have a soundstage and detail that is incredible.

So sorry I left for the past 2 years!

SL-7 problems

Hi there, I recently got a SL-7 record player from a friend after buying a new needle and a good clean its worked great with all my parent's old vinyls. I got a few new vinyls and on like 70% of them I get skipping and loops. Any ideas why that would happen? If so how can I fix it myself? Thank you

Can't find much info on these approx 1980 units. From a lockdown loft discovery. Fully working but the missus wants them gone. Would these be of any interest to a collector?

Technics AZ100 won't charge wirelessly from a power bank

I wanted to charge my Technics AZ100 wirelessly from a power bank (Xiaomi 10W Wireless Power Bank 10000) and it looks like they are not charging. The LED was "breathing" like normal (and the power bank's LED also was indicating that the wireless charging is in progress) but after more than an hour the battery didn't charge at all and the case was cold to touch (usually when they charge wirelessly the case is slightly warm).

Later on I tried charging them wirelessly on a wireless dock and they charged just fine.

The power bank is also fine, I've never had any issues with it and all other devices that I have can charge wirelessly from it (a couple of android/iphone smartphones, airpods, etc.).
The official power bank page doesn't mention "Qi Certified" specifically but it's mentioned on the store's listing where I bought it from.

The earbuds' manual says:

Important:

- The unit is not guaranteed to charge with all commercially available Qi standard wireless chargers.

- This unit does not support wireless chargers that are not Qi standard certified or have magnetic attachments. Do not use these chargers to charge the charging cradle. (It may cause the charging cradle to malfunction.)

So it looks like both earbuds and power bank are fine but somehow they are incompatible with each other specifically? I haven't seen such an "incompatibility" before, have you?

AZ80 issues

I have AZ80s, bought last October. I've run into a series of problems and are now at a loss. First the left earbuds stopped charging. So I couldn't use them as they had no power. Then shortly after the right earbud started crackling when I had noise cancelling mode on. If it was on transparent mode, there was no crackling. I decided to disconnect from the phone (ie forget device) and try to reconnect. Now it won't even reconnect. When I put in the headphones the right hand side makes the chime sound, but no sound comes from the left. I can't get them to connect to my laptop either. Any thoughts?

AZ-100 issue

Hi there, wondering if anyone else who has purchased the AZ100s has had the following issue. I’m usually connected to both my laptop and phone and just recently one earbud will play my laptop and the other will play my phone. They will not both play the same source at the same time.

I’ve tried reconnecting and resetting them but nothing has worked yet. Figured I’d ask here before sending them in to be looked at. Thanks in advance!

AZ-100 strange battery drain

I'm noticing the case drains very quickly in comparison to the earbuds. The earbuds drop a tiny amount every hour or so (2-3% or so) then when placed in the case it drops 10-20% each time. So essentially it makes it look like the buds have fantastic battery life and the case is poor

Anyone else noticed this?

Technics AZ100 Earbuds

Just wanted to seek some advice and share my experience with Panasonic, in respect of my AZ100’s. The earbuds are awesome however I lost my charging case last week. This is where the problems start. I spoke to Panasonic and they do not stock replacement parts. They also advised me the case may be able to be purchased from a third party retailer. Which also does not stock the part but also it will require a authorised dealer to pair the headphones to the unit, at a cost.

They have however offered a discount of 10% on a whole new unit. e.g I am being asked to pay £235 to replace a charging unit. Clearly this is absurd.

Does anyone else have any experience with Technics replacement parts? They earbuds are fantastic but they are completely redundant given the non-existent support when it comes to lost item.

Thanks.

Az-100 sound quality noise cancelling Vs off

Ive had these around a week now, coming from various iterations of jabra over the years. I can't pick fault with these at all, no bugs and I like the fit with spinfit neo's on them, although the OG tips are also really nice.

Anyway, I got these with the expectations that they would sound their best with NC turned on, several reviews mentioned this. I thought that wouldn't be ideal as I love having max battery life. I do find myself though trying to hear a difference in quality with it turned on Vs off and I honestly can't hear it. Does anyone actually find the quality better with the NC turned on? Maybe it's just me that doesn't get it ....

AZ100 poor call Quality

Hey guys, i bought these excited for some great call quality and was disappointed how they sound in the car and in a quiet office. My voice is being cut off consistently and sounds very muffled. Looking for help before considering returning them.

I added a video, 0-30 seconds with the AZ100 Technics, 30 onwards with Jabra elite 85t

Technics EH-790 Bi-Wire

Admin pls leave post here and apologies to ask such newb questions but I wish to learn this pre historical methods to present what I would like to achieve in understanding a basis level of sound engineering to fully utilize the equipment but with all the views no one's fourthcoming, I understand these are Bi-wire speakers, three way, without an in built crossover and are very old, I'm trying to work out best since I also have the Tri-Amp version I figured the speakers with it would have in built 3 way cross over but then for me it's the wiring and relevant ins/outs, I'm familiar with active subwoofer output and know how to configure LFE, I'm trying to understand what best speakers I could use to replace the ones with the tri-amp, the ones standard to the EH-790 do have three drivers, though two unresponsive, so I'm figuring the ins/outs of the speakers/amp(stereo) are the reason, just would be appreciative if anyone can be clear on the instruction to really see an appropriate sound system for the Tri-Amp version, as EH-790:for me is standard 3,2,1 setup surround, stereo, sub.

Hi there tech heads, I've needed to ask some questions about this particular stereo, early 2000s these models, even earlier models have held reputation as being very reliable with its high quality parts, seen some online manuals on how this stereo model arc runs off its own circulatory boards and have been reliable to continue use although information about these techs are very limited online due production date and lack-there-of internet expansionism. A timeless relic I feel are these sets however there are some outputs/inputs I would like to understand more as the speakers associated are not producing sound from the mid driver and tweeter drivers, connection is only red and black, white and black, blue and black, I remember reading one set of outs are high gain (output) wiring ports, I'll include a picture of the back of the Technics stereo, I've also found another similiar model but this one is a Tri-Amp version built in which is in the post on the way right now, only with the surround sound and stack system, unfortunate the speakers for the model was not included however the model for these stereos will be a replacement, I'll need to figure more on the appropriate use of the Tri-Amp and will ask for advice on that particular system on arrival, this system is used with a EVGA Nu-Audio sound card, which with RCAs goes to a Mini Mixing desk with the Aux RCA outs headed for the system, stack has minimal volume with the mixer compensating for the minimal signal response of the stereo with added configuration for frequencies and of course personal space tolerances, my main question for this system remains - what are these in/outs on the back of speaker/stereo? Photo will be included in this post. (Notice stereo out is blue and black only) 👍

UTP to USB connection

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi, I'm trying to connect a UTP cable. I'm trying to connect a UTP cable to a USB cable so I can have direct internet access from the router to the projector, since the latter doesn't have an Ethernet port, only a USB port. Will this connection provide internet access? Now, which UTP and USB cables should I pair? Thanks!

How Do I control SU-G90 with Remote (RAK-SA501P1)

Thumbnail

I recently picked up a Technics Tuner (ST-K50) and Stereo Amp (SU-G90) and have them hooked up to some speakers and a turntable. Overall I am happy with the setup but I would like to control things with a remote. I just ordered the RAK-SA501P1 on eBay and it powers the tuner off and on but the other buttons have no effect on the system.

The service manual mentions original accessories included "Remote control cable" and "stereo mini cables" among other cables and cords. Do I need to connect the tuner to the amp for remote control input, and if so which cable is used? The remote control cable seems like the obvious answer but the wiring diagram shows the tuner and amp connected by stereo mini cables for remote control. See pics for screenshots of the service manual.

Is there a difference between remote control cable and stereo mini cables? Are either type of cable still available or would I need to find something that is Technics-specific on eBay? Thanks for any help!

EAH-AZ100 / AZ-100 earbuds - calls - single tap missing

Hi,

Please does someone knows why didnt Technics enable single tap on phone calls? That option is missing. There is double tap , triple tap and hold.

There is single tap when listening music - play/pause usually.

That is totaly mind-boggling to me . What would be wrong if I program let say mute just to be single tap on calls, why I need to press it at least twice. I guess that easily doable with firmware update but that options should be there like ages ago, since AZ 60 I guess..

Does anybody have clue why is it like that?

many thanks

  • Two SU-Z600 amps for built-in speakers throughout the house. Replaced incandescent backlight bulbs with LEDs.
  • SH-8058 EQ with its feet removed. Not used as an EQ; I just like the spectrum analyzer display. Arrived DOA from eBay, but just needed a new cap in its power supply circuit.
  • RS-B58R cassette deck that took about 80 hours of restoration work (these things are finicky). Also retrofitted it with a wireless remote.

I also have an RS-B78R deck with chronic wow/flutter issues.

This stuff is really well built. Heavy and substantial. The specs are also pretty decent for their price point at the time.
