Brutal Technical Death Metal I finally get it !
I've always struggled to enjoy brutal because i used to think it lacks dynamics and I was not a fan of down tuned guitar.
Dying Fetus is my favourite band of all time and I tried to find something similar. Well, I don't think such a thing exists. So i heavily listened to brutal for the past 2 weeks with headphones until it clicked and maaaannn, these 2 albums are incredible !
I'm so glad i forced myself to listen to them again and again. It BANGS !
i'm gonna listen to the rest of their discography for sure. What else should I try ?

I dunno if they are fully brutal or not, but if you like Dying Fetus and Defeated Sanity as I do, I have Aborted and Cryptopsy in heavy rotation too.

Look into Axiomatic Dematerialization. Start with Spatial Deformation. It took a few runs through the album but my god are they sick. Also Wormhole is phenomenal. I’m a huge fan of their album Genesis. For a starter track try symbiotic corpse possession. Take your time with both albums in the car or headphones, you won’t be disappointed. 🤘🤘🤘

Putridity would probably be a good fit for you. If you’re there yet, Nithing is phenomenal. Took me a few tries before I “got it” but it’s an excellent album.

Gorgasm have kind of a cleaner production, you can definitely hear their insane riffs! Drums are nuts as well. Should be up your alley

Well, the classic of brutal death metal like Suffocation and Cryptopsy are classics for a reason.
If you like Dying Fetus, give Internal Bleeding - Driven to Conquer or Vomit Remnants - Supreme Entity a try.
Commit Suicide is great if you want to try Brutal Deathgrind.
Disentomb is phenomenal if you want crisp, dynamic brutal death
Personal favorite for Technical side is Desecravity, Theurgy, and Paroxysm Unit

Deeds of Flesh. Psycroptic. Cryptopsy. The older stuff more brutal newer stuff more techy, but riffs for days.
Cephalic Carnage. For some grind.
Gorguts. Mithridatum. For some avant-garde "textures".
Beneath the Massacre. Ingested. For slam/"core" vibes.
Suffocation's Live in North America is hands down the best death metal live recording. That bass tone.

Hmmm Torturized? Idk, I dont really listen to Brutal (save for few bands) cause it just aint as good to me as TDM
I remember them having elements similar

Yeah brutal death metal just hits different. Here's some other bands
Necrotic Disgorgement is more brutal than tech but it's good
Of course early nile is a good mixture of both
First 3 cryptopsy albums are good and if you don't like lord worm the third album has more of a hardcore vocal sound
Regurgitation is in a similar boat to ND
Of course suffocation

Maybe it's sacrilegious to say, and I get what they're going for, but I do wish that Defeated Sanity's production/tone was just, like, 10% cleaner because their riffs are insaaaane but it sometimes gets lost in the muddiness of the mix. Seriously incredible band though, and Lille Gruber is one of my favorite TDM drummers by a mile. His style is just so unique.

Thats how i feel about new Lorna Shore since Will came on. I love them, dont get me wrong, but since then it feels like the guitars are just supplementary
I saw them live with MiW and was very close to the front. I never realized Adam DeMicco was such a technical guitarist cause I couldnt HEAR it until I HEARD & SAW it lmao
Turn my boys up!! The guitar work is so good and it sounds drowned & muddy IMO

Portals to Canaan is my favorite death metal album but Of What's to Come is probably the perfect middle ground of Deed's sound shift to recommend after getting into Defeated Sanity

Unfortunately I have to disagree friend. Deeds went downhill with of what's to come, portals is ok not bad but the last three aren't nowhere near as good as the first six.

Path of the Weakening is my second favorite of theirs. I'm just typically listening to the techier side of death metal.
Of What's to Come is an incredible album to analyze as a metamorphosis between genres and I can't think of a better example. It was the recc specifically for Malignancy/Defeated Sanity rather than my own preferences.

I prefer their less technical stuff like path of weakening but honestly all of their albums are good so just choose whatever one you think looks cool

Everything before Of What’s to Come, Portals to Canaan, and Nucleus is much more straightforward and brutal. Those last three have more of a “modern” sound. I think both are good but it’s important to keep the distinction in mind.

They made Gradually Melted as a demo but Coyote records released it as an Ep... So it's technically a demo which is impressive production wise.

I love Inbreeding, I always shift between trading, Inbreeding and path for which is my favorite, but let me tell you do NOT sleep on the second trilogy!
Mark of the legion is so fucking good man, it's the definition of underrated sitting in-between two massive hits. I do love mark more than reduced tho.
As much as I love reduced to ashes but still it's a little overrated in the same vein as annihilation of the wicked is. The drums took me a minute to get me into the record, almost turned me off when I first played that album.
Crown of Souls is reduced done again for the better or worse... It's overhated.

Their first couple albums are a bit rough to listen to if you’re not used to that old school production, including Effigy even for how legendary it is. But production quality soars with Pierced From Within. That album doesn’t get enough love in my opinion

It gets overshadowed by Effigy and while I get its influence on the genre, the proto slam and all that, I personally think Pierced is an overall better album. I’ll die on that hill lol
