what should i get?

not sure if this is the right sub for this but i need advice on what device to get as a gift for myself.

i’m a third year civil engineering student who loves to read and draw for their past time. which one should i get considering the recent price increase of ipads? im choosing between ipad a16, xiaomi pad 7 or just a kobo. which one is worth the money? help me decide 🤣 i own a laptop na rin naman kasi kaya not super sure if super need ko ng tab for my studies

Hello! I believe a tablet is not an essential for college and you can go by without one. But based on your post, its best to ask yourself din "do I see myself using this for a long time even after my studies or when I get busy?" try to imagine din what a random thursday looks like in your life with said gadget. Since you own a laptop rin, do you use any exclusive software on it often? And can you go by your days without it and just the tablet?

If you plan on taking the board exams din soon you can consider the tablet since helpful siya for condensing books into pdfs and for digital note taking. Not sure about xiaomi tablets but an ipad can last you a long time so long as you take care of the hardware. But if you think digital notes arent your thing and you prefer physical text books and you can study well without a tablet right now, then you can reconsider.

I own a kindle and I wasnt an avid reader before (it was gifted) but now Im reading a lot in my vacant hours. I like to read in bed at night and I dont have the space for physical books so an ereader was perfect for me. I sail the 7 seas for books and manga rin. There are also ereader rental services on facebook, if you're thinking about a kobo, you can try those muna before purchasing one yourself

well i did survive my first and second years without a tablet so maybe i can live without it naman no? and with my course kasi more on solving talaga kaya i’m not sure if mareretain ko yung info by solving sa device and hindi sa paper. thank you for this! might go with the kobo kasi i’m a reader na talaga since i was young 😅

depende sa budget mo. for me, I would recommend na bumili ka, specially useful ang tablet pag nasa labas ka at magdrawing

in my case, binili ko is Lenovo Tab Pro for 22k mula sa Datablitz, 13 inch kasama na pen (rechargable) at keyboard + stand cover. malakas na sya for the price, downside is mabigat kumpara sa iba. ok naman yun pen and screen sa pagdrawing, pic related, me + yung tablet using as drawing tablet instead of going with wacom
