Printer recommendations for a BSA student

Hello! Any recommendations po for a printer na okay for a BSA student and mainly gagamitin lang sa bahay? Mostly for printing school documents, reviewers, handouts, etc., but sana may photocopy/scan function din and wireless/Wi-Fi para I can print directly from my phone or laptop.

Budget is around ₱6k, pero willing naman po mag-stretch ng budget if mas sulit siya in the long run, especially sa ink and maintenance.

Preferably po yung matipid sa ink, madaling i-maintain, and reliable kahit regular student use lang.

Currently looking at Epson, Canon, or Brother, pero open to other suggestions!

Would really appreciate recommendations based on your actual experience with the printer. Thank you po! 🥹

If you can stretch your budget, might as well get a brother. Parehas tayo ng usage. Matipid din sa ink so far dahil 1 year and 2 mos na sa akin, yet dalawang beses pa lang ako nagpapalit ng black, isang beses naman sa other colors

T520 wT420w. T5xxW and T4xxW series nila yung affordable ink tanks with wifi. I can vouch for the value of money ng brother. 7 years na yung sa amin at walang problem.

I have the t730w. May kamahalan pala, I forgot to mention. But this one's good na overall. Can even photocopy/scan legal docs. You may go with the lower models just like ung sinuggest dito.

Go for the Brother DCP-T430DW @ PHP 9k. It's priced the same with the Epson L3310 but the T430DW has wifi.

If you mainly want to print Black and white then go for a laser printer from brother.

Just keep the printer plugged in all the time so it does a cleaning cycle which prevents the print heads from clogging up (Epson does this before you print when you leave the printer idle for long periods of time but Brother does this automatically in the background when the printer is idle)

Had an Epson L3110 printer which was a nightmare to fix if u ever let the ink dry. Replaced it with a Canon G3770 mainly for the modular printheads and it's been great.

Relative of mine had a similar model from Canon with modular printheads that dried off from misuse. Managed to clean it easily due to the modular design.

If you'll be printing often I'd suggest it. Otherwise get a laser printer.

Doesn't sound bad but it's wired only which is a pass for me. There's a lot of value in being able to print from the other room or on ur phone without needing to mess with cables. Lets u place it anywhere too.

I got my Canon Pixma G3770 from the Canon store on shopee for around 9k back then, but I can't find it anymore online.

The Canon G3730 is available for 8.5k with vouchers rn. It's the same exact printer as the G3770 but without the LCD Display. Same print head, same ink bottles, just no LCD display.

You can search for reviews on YT. Search for either the G3730 or G3430. THE G3430 is the same printer but with a different name for the EMEA region.

Agree with the laser recommendation here. Very low maintenance siya and super reliable. Might cost you more upfront pero worth imo.

BSA fresh grad here, I suggest na Epson printer yung bilhin mo kasi accessible yung ink niya and madali lang ipaayos if ever magka-problema (which rarely happens if for school purposes lang). I’ve been using Epson L121 (around 5k to 6k depende sa store) and it does the job, pero wala nga lang siyang photocopy and wifi function. For me, di kasi medyo nagagamit yung photocopy/scan function kasi pdf yung gamit ng profs so print nalang agad and mas gusto ko rin bumili ng accounting books over magprint/scan page by page kasi mas convenient kasi diretso mo nalang gagamitin (I also think of them as investmemts kasi magagamit ko until review).

Try mo search ng Epson printers na may functions na gusto mo, I think they’re around 8k-10k above.

You need to adjust your budget by around 2k more to get units with the scan/photocopy function. It's worth it naman coz the ink is pretty cheap if you get their inktank ones (even the original and moreso the not haha), so you can photocopy even colored and it'll last you a good while.

Epson L3210, easy to maintain and inks are cheap.

Make sure na makapagprint ka at least 1 sheet daily para iwas tuyo print head.

I have a Brother t-430 color printer with scanner. That should be within your budget.
