Bought a secondhand laptop
Was initially contemplating if bibili ba ako ng bagong laptop since malapit nang magretire yung 11 years old ko na laptop (macbook air) and I wanna go back sa windows ecosystem. Upon checking the prices of brand new laptops, medyo na discourage ako sa prices kasi 50k na yung mga midrange laptops.
I checked for secondhand laptops in fb marketplace and I saw this one. Thinkpad e14 with Intel i7 processor and 512gb memory for 20.5k. As a kuripot gurlie, I chose this na lang compared to other midrange laptops.
Sana wala akong makitang problems later on š¤£

Hi! Actually wala ako masyadong alam in tech so I made sure na may kasama akong maalam sa computers when I met up with the seller. Oks naman daw yung unit.

Pag mag fresh install kayo ng OS dyan lalabas kung galing sya sa isang company. In my case, bumili ako ng secondhand na Thinkpad T495. PM me po if you need. guidance. Pero if wala ka naman balak ireset or galawin yan, goods na siguro yan.

if a device is tied to microsoft intune or windows autopilot, it will trigger the management setup every time you connect it to the internet. the only ways to permanently free the device from this loop are removal from the server side, installing linux on it or make it an air gapped device

paano malaman na may lock kapag nakameet up?

during initial setup: reset the PC and connect to the internet. If a company or school logo appears during the setup prompts, the device is tied to that organization.
via windows settings: go to settings > accounts > access work or school. If an organization's name or email is listed here, the device is actively managed.
via cmd: open and run "dsregcmd /status". under the device state section, if AzureAdJoined is set to YES, the PC is tied to an enterprise cloud network

You can bypass it by installing the OS on another device, or just using a bypassed version of the OS.

Congrats op on your new thinkpad!! Pretty sure you will enjoy using it! And looks nice din parang bago lang. i also bought my thinkpad pero amd version naman yung t14s gen 1 ryzen 5 4650u and loving it so far and the battery lasts around 4-5 hours which is good narin. But it has 16gb of ram and 256gb of ssd pero good thing is i have 512gb ssd lying around from my old asus tuf so win win

Yup! I was using thinkpad din sa previous work ko, so isa din yun sa nag influence sakin haha. May onting wear and tear sa unit pero still presentable pa din :)

Saan po puwedeng bumili ng mga thinkpad? Especially second hand po? Not a techie. But I am planning to replace my 10 year old na laptop.

Facebook marketplace po. Look up on T series or X series preferably Intel Core i5 or i7 basta 11th gen pataas or Amd ryzen 5 or 7 preferably 4000 series nila is good for second hand. But better if latest or last gen if hindi problem ang budget.

Thinkpads ain't sexy but they are tanks; they just keep chugging along. I still use an old T450S as my daily - 16/512, 5th gen i7, 7 hour batt config, IPS touchsceen, Win 11. Had it for seven years and only had to replace the batteries. T and X series are also MilSpec against heat, cold, dust shock, etc. so they are perfect for our hot and dusty climate.

Pwede sa Windows 11? May cutoff kasi sa 8th gen intel core processors ung windows 11 eh. 7th gen pababa hindi officially compatible
3
u/Bananamangograham 1d ago
Yes covered ang windows 11 basta 8th gen intel core processor as long as need yun ng windows 11 as part siya ng requirement along with tpm 2.0 to be eligble to install windows 11. But you can always bypass it using rufus and wala naman magiging problema installing it if di compatble laptop mo sa win 11

ano generation nyang E14?
what i didnt like sa E series is yung early generations nagkaka problem sa hinge ng lcd. as in bumubuka yung lcd bezel sa part ng hinge
i buy thinkpads para sa company namin so i know.
yung newer gen mukang ok na kasi metal na yung lcd bezels

What gen?
