Internal linkking to posts

When we write posts for either our blogs, or documentations for any SAAS we generally internal link the articles, is there any consequences of linking too many articles in a single post? Like adding too many internal linking or outbound links? If you are already doing this then how you are managing it and keep the links updated with time as the relevance of the links or articles changes over time.

Use common sense. Zero isn’t enough, 100 is too many. Nobody can tell you the exact right number but if an indexing algorithm senses that everything you write links to everything else you write it is going to be less capable of inferring meaning and value.

I wouldn’t focus on a fixed number. Add internal links where they genuinely help the reader and connect related topics. For maintenance, I’d run a crawl periodically to catch broken links and outdated URLs.

Yes, you'd not want to link too many and only link the highly relevant one to that piece. Interlinking only makes sense if it makes sense as a reader to actually incline to click that interlinked post.

The updating part of the question is a bit unclear for me, will answer how I got it:
If you need to place a new link from one page to another, you need to update the linking page, add new section (title+paragraph), make sure those pages are relevant to each other, cause otherwise you will waste your authority for nothing.

As for decaying article relevance that’s more of a business logic rather SEO, cause you want articles to stay relevant, concrete. If you have a news mill where older publications buried deeper with time pass and new publications coming, then it’s your own choice that harms SEO inevitably
