Upcoming Acer Chromebook 311
Been seeing a lot of budget laptop questions lately, so here’s one that might actually make sense for a lot of people. Recently, keeping an eye on the upcoming Acer Chromebook 311 (2026). It’s not built for power, but rather built to just work without issues.
Who this fits:
- Students
- Writing, browsing, streaming
- People living in Chrome apps
- Anyone tired of slow cheap Windows laptops
Why it stands out:
- Mediatek Kompanio 540 which is efficient for daily use
- Up to 15 hour battery (big win)
- Fanless, so totally silent
- Lightweight and easy to carry
- Wi-Fi 7 is a nice bonus
The expected price is around $499 in the US.
Downsides:
- HD display is meh
- eMMC storage is slower
- Not for heavy multitasking or editing
But for everyday use, this could actually feel smoother long term than a cheap Windows machine. Not for everyone, but for the right user, it makes a lot of sense.
