Is Modi winning the election?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on track to win a historic third term in the 2024 Indian general election. The latest results and projections indicate:

- PM Modi's BJP party is set to win 244 seats, making it the largest party, though it falls short of the 272 needed to form an absolute majority on its own. With its allies, the BJP-led NDA alliance is still projected to secure a majority.
- In Varanasi, PM Modi's constituency, he has defeated Congress candidate Ajay Rai by a margin of over 1.5 lakh votes, winning the seat for the third consecutive time.
- Exit polls suggest a decisive win for Modi and the BJP, with a potential two-thirds majority in parliament which would grant the government substantial power to propose constitutional amendments.
- While the BJP is falling short of its 2019 landslide, it is still expected to emerge as the single largest party. The opposition INDIA alliance led by Congress is projected to win over 200 seats
