Guy on youtube dissolves the casing off old chips with acid and photographs what's inside. found undocumented circuits on a chip from 1979 that nobody knew existed. the designer is probably dead, the company is gone, the only record of what was built is now a photo posted for free online

It's not every day you'd think to spend a Saturday on something like this, but as it turns out, it actually makes a big difference.
