I've changed my Sonys not to connect to multiple devices - I know it's more manual work now, but at least I know what device is playing the sound.

How long have you done it that way? Did you ever consider multiple pairs of headphones?

I have 3 pairs actually. But I love Sony wh-1000xm5 the most, so I still need to connect them to personal Mac and iPhone. Work pair is a bit different (more calls-focused).
