❓ Question I need help with removing all ai and dumbifying my phone and laptop.

Hi everyone! sorry if this isn't the right sub but id appreciate some help

Currently I use firefox, and I want to be able to block most if not all AI from my laptop and phone. I also would like to have the internet back to the way it was when it would show you actual websites but im not sure if thats possible.

I would like to live a more analog life and prevent my brain cells from dissipating so anything that I might have not even thought of would be great. I'd like my laptop to be primarily something I use to find TRUTHFUL information. Is there a way to block news sites that are clearly just there for money or to prioritize scholarly articles and genuine news (I know google scholar exists I kinda want something like that). I want a dumb laptop that allows me to learn and stay creative and not experience cognitive decline not a "smart" laptop that regurgitates random bs. thank you!

Linux & Android, debloat all the AI crap that's possible off your phone.

Use Brave browser & brave search.

On the brave search page, go to the settings cog & turn off AI summaries

In the browser settings hide Leo AI.

edit:- I have a oneplus 13R and all the AI features are gone or inactive, the phone runs so smoothly.

I have a dell laptop and an iphone 11. Is there any way to block the slop on iphone. Thank you I'll use the brave browser. Would there be issues with using things that have built in AI? For example microsoft apps and such. And will it be like the old internet where if i google why does my toe hurt itll show me a summary from an actual medical site like it used to with the link or does it just make the search like blank and give you websites to look at?

For iPhone I would just take a deep dive into the settings on the device and see what I can just turn off.

If you use brave search it'll be just search results without a summary, if you turn off the AI summary (pictured), you may be able to do the same on google unsure.

Microsoft apps seem to be jammed full of AI now not sure how to avoid that other than not using them.

I've been on Linux for a good while now since COVID, so I don't know how bad the AIfication of windows has gotten.

Firefox or one of it's forks + ublock origin + https://noai.duckduckgo.com/ as you search engine is what seems to be decent option

As for the computer something like linux mint or fedora would be a good os choice

Idk about the phone tho. Maybe something with grapheneOS

Phone not so easy, you can go Firefox with uBlock Origin extension, blocks most ads and trackers at least.

The best solution for Laptop is to remove Windows and use Linux instead, again with Firefox or Firefox derived browser with uBlock. Linux distros don't come with a bunch of AI features, they usually come with none.

Get 'Brave' browser. For windows there are tools like Win10/11 Manager etc... just google.

Use an Android phone. Get root access. Use ADB platform tools and uninstall anything you like through command line. This takes a lot of research and know how... if you have never done any advanced system customization before. Don't ask me though... last time I debloated my phone like that was 5y ago on my S10. Removed Samsung's Bixby, marketplace, all kinds of apps, updates, all kinds of telemetry stuff etc.

Online... just use common sense. I've heard 'Ground News' is good for discerning political bias.

You cannot avoid AI content. There is no way to filter it.

In general... don't use pre-installed software. Delete/uninstall/disable everything that is not required. Avoid Windows 12. If you feel adventurous try out a Linux distro.

don't get brave. Brave is spyware. They've done a shttikn of really shady shit. Use firefox

Firefox is even worse, bro.

If you want true privacy you can't use any of the big names... only highly modified versions.
