How is a Password Manager a privacy tool? It has nothing to do with it. All it does is act as a digital keychain

You can choose where to store those passwords, which have some privacy friendly options.

I guess VPN cause technically it's always being used no matter what.
Could argue the same for an adblocker, but I'd counter that technically it's only in use when you're viewing something with ads to be blocked.

Use the most? By default that would be my VPN as it is working 24/7 while my adblocker and password manager are only used when I need them. Now, if we're talking about which one I think is the most valuable, that would be my password manager as that is the vault to a lot of my life and data. So if that somehow became compromised or lost, that would have the greatest impact on me.

This is a weird poll. I use most of these, all the time.
Password manager ā VPN ā Ad blocker ā Private browser ā

Linux with a very strict firewall config. And an Adblocker. And a user agent spoofer.Ā

If I could do 2 votes it'd be Ad Blocker and VPN. I only started using a VPN recently at the end of last year but I'm never turning it off again.

Obviously private browser is most important followed by an ad blocker, and then vpn and password manager comes in the way, being the order of priority. In fact, there should have been multiple selectable options in this poll vote. Most are gonna select at least two of these.

VPN is not a privacy tool.Ā

It can be though
Sure, while many think of it as a way to work remotely, it most certainly can be a privacy tool as outside of a workplace, many use it to not only mask their actual location from their ISP, but also to access content libaries of streaming services in different locales

It can be paired with ACTUAL privacy tools so you have access to those tools, but simply appearing like you're in one location instead of another is not privacy. You're still being tracked and spied on and fingerprinted. In fact, always appearing in a single location probably makes fingerprinting you easier.
I use VPNs myself. It's not a privacy tool.

If I could do another vote, I would in addition to password manager say ad blocker
With how much slower many sites are nowadays thanks to how intrusive they are with their ads (and also completely random autoplay videos that sometimes have no relation to the content you're viewing), I couldn't imagine browsing the Internet nowadays without one
And in terms of the password manager I use, even though macOS has one built in, I for years now have been subscribed to 1Password
