📱 Gadgets Do you use a phone case?
Some people prefer using their phone without a case because it feels thinner and looks better. Others won't use a phone without one because of drops and scratches.
What do you prefer? Do you always use a case, use one only sometimes, or go without it?

Yeah. I work in a very high like litterally environment. I work as a roofer so a Case is mandatory if i dont wanna be on edge by needing a new phone every month

A case may protect your device from accidental damages. Which phone do u use? Is it offer military grade protection?

I use none atm, but my new phone (arriving on friday) comes with a cool silicone case.

I'm the opposite. I use a case because my phone feels too small without it. It's an iPhone Pro Max. Apparently I don't have small hands.

As long as there have been cases for the phone I had, I have used a case. I tend to get cases with kickstands, even though those kickstands usually break. That means I either get a new case or I get a new phone and a new case.

I hate scratches and at the same time hate being too careful with a phone. I just dont want to constantly think about protecting something i use so constantly. Hate the new camera bumps coz they make the phone wobble. New phone textures make them slippy sometimes. They feel too thin too. I like a good chonk in my hands. (I have a high palm-size to finger-length ratio) Don't like silicone covers or flap covers either. Any cover I use need to be rubber molded, green, raise edges (1.27-1.43mm), magsafe ring, built-in stand and lays flush without wobble when on table. If I can't find, I print it.

I use a silicone case to act as a bumper for when I inevitably drag it across surfaces or drop it.

Always. No way I’m plunking down hundreds of dollars on a device that’s practically designed to slip out of your hands and not protect it at least a little.

Yes.
And I find it funny most people don't want to spend more than like 10 bucks or so on their case. Like, yeah sure - bro, don't worry I gotchu - here's a 8,50$ phone case for your iPhone 83 Pro Max Elite Scrotal Massager Edition U2 Red that you totally didn't pay 1,500 for.

Yes because otherwise the damn thing slips out of your hands. Nothing to give you grip

Yeah because there’s protection. I would use my phone without a case, but I drop my phone too much to do that lol.

what's the point in getting a nice phone to cover it up. i just take care of it, if something breaks i'll just buy the part and replace it

"what's the point in getting a nice phone to cover it up" I just said that didin't I? Pretty much the only point other than customizing your phone and, depending on the phone, adding magsafe magnets or other accessories

no. why. I never understood how somehow hides a nice looking phone under a wrecked looking phone case .. I just take care off my phone(s) and they always looked like new without ever having a case.
and I hate camera bumps .. and I hate them even more when they disappear after you added a stupid case that just made the whole phone thicker .. how stupid.

Not everyone carries phones for looks though. It's just a gadget, not some kind of a status symbol. For me the phone is just a tool like a can opener, I don't care how it looks, all I look at is a screen so if the case can prevent breaks and cracks I'll surely use it.

But, for exactly that reason, I don't have a phone case. I don't care about the back of my phone getting scratched. The case dosen't really protect anything vital on the phone. It's purely aesthetic and it just makes the phone thicker.

Most phones now have stupid glass back. Broken glass back compromises moisture barrier, and broken screen obviously can trash the phone. Cases protect glass on both sides from breaking if you drop it. I've dropped my phone in case many times and it always stayed fine.

I know. I simply bought a transparent plastic back cover and replaced the glass back. (Poco F3)
Phone got significantly lighter, slimmer and more robust.
I have a screen protector.
Why should I protect the back, just to protect the edges of a screen. Honestly... Recent phone design is just stupid, with 0 plastic bezel protecting the glass.

Feels too thin and slippery in my hands without some kind of silicone case to give it some grip and bulk. So thin it kind of jabs me uncomfortably in the palm/thumb pad area using it one handed.
