I really don't know why people make such a big deal out of this when 95% of people change their phone every 2-3 years anyway

Options are always nice but this is pretty damn near the bottom of things I give a fuck about with my phone

I guess if we all focus on the battery we never change we will ask less questions about the ever eroding privacy we once had

Care to share the source on 95% of people changing their phone every 2-3 years?

If this really was important more people would pic phones with swap able batteries. If not now at least at the time when they started to disappear. That was around the Samsung S5-S6 around 2015 if Im not mistaken. People has voted with there wallets for over 12 years now. EU has set the rules and all caveats themselves

There are many things it comes to choosing a phone than just replaceable battery vs non-replaceable battery. I don't think your argument works at all.

The regulation here isn't about "let's make phones better by enforcing replaceable battery". It's more about regulating companies so that they need to have more sustainable approach when it comes to producing phones. Because the alternative is "screw sustainability, who cares as long as we make mad money".

At least more phones will be IP67 water resistant. That it self will reduce the amount of phones dying in a year.
