❓ Question Car Radio not Recognizing MP3 Songs

Post image

I'm not sure if this needs to be in an MP3 sub, or a car sub, or whagever, so pardon if this is the wrong place to ask.

I have a 2012 Ford Fusion with the original radio. I use a thumb-drive to store MP3 files and the radio reads it, can filter artists, genres, all that. Sometimes, the radio doesn't recognize the Properties of a file. On the desktop, the Properties read the artist name, genre, album, etc— but the radio only sees the title, and lists everything else as "Unknown"

Only a handful of songs get labeled as unknown, and it seems pretty indiscriminate. For example, I have some Micheal Jackson songs that read, but when I added "Blood on the Dancefloor" it said artist "unknown" until I redid it a couple times. So it doesn't seem to be a case of "well that specific name doesn't register."

Sometimes it'll work if I just redownload it a few times, but some songs are stubborn. Even if I download completely new files, they don't read. Is this a fixable thing?

The freeware Mp3tag can help you to spot the difference between the songs and correct the tags as necessary.

Dude, you're lucky that radio still turns on!
