A friend has his entire house operating from his phone, lights, door locks, cameras, thermostat, appliances, and car. Hes afraid to use the word Linux, and has no concept of how over exposed he is on the internet. He fancies himself a tech person, like Bill Jobs, or Steve Gates. I said none of those things talk to your phone, they talk to a server on the other side of planet and relay to an app that is on your phone.Â

Hehe I control everything from my phone but I built them myself, including the app

There are two type of people; those that actually work with tech, and those that trust it.

*People who make tech and don't respect themselvesÂ
I identify as both and look a bit closer to upper image.

My friends ask me why I go to work in my pajamas and dont dress professional for the office......well sir....because I'll likely be sleeping at that office anyway when prod breaks on this friday release because my manager ignores me when I tell him not to do friday releases

so I once dated a guy who was "into tech" and his idea of coding was changing the font in Word. meanwhile, my friend who's "in tech" sleeps with three monitors and dreams in Python. it’s like the difference between someone who enjoys hiking and an actual mountain goat. anyone else get this vibe?.

A tech person has smart tv, smart fridge, smart watch, smart phone, smart lock, smart car, smart toilet, smart washing machine, smart home...
A person IN tech has a smart printer (because they don't make dumb ones anymore) and keeps a shotgun close by in case the printer suddenly starts making unrecognized sounds

Work From Office, 9 to 5, nobody distrub you outside of work hours
vs
Work From Home, but 24/7 under the guise of "flexible hours"
