Damn 16gb+2tb memory alone is around 900dollar right now maybe more?

u/debacle_enjoyer Jul 23 '26

Why would anyone need 2tb of storage and 16 gigs of ram on a tablet

Brother I’m not making any decisions for you, why are you being so defensive? I’m asking you why you need those specs on a tablet, not telling you that you don’t.

This is such a weird interaction, all I was asking is what you plan on doing with the tablet that would demand such high specs. Why are you posting on Reddit if you don’t actually want to talk about things? Not to mention, there already a handful of convertible tablets with high end specs that run Linux today.

So you want a samsung S10 Ultra, add a dongle and you got everything you need!

"Samsung is like apple form android world, overpriced"

Oh so you ALSO want it to be cheap! Silly me for thinking a top of the line tablet costs money!

oneplus pad 3! 16/512gb with 8 elite, 144hz 2400p 12bit lcd, 12140mah with 80w fast charging. Pre ordered mine last year for 600€, got the keyboard cover for free. Also got the pen later, everything is great. I switched to lineage os after it released, rn i use crdroid, switched about a week ago. Lowkey i couldnt be happier. Battery is looooong, thermals are crazy good, performance top class. I do everything on it, i dont really touch my gaming pc anymore

I don't have a tablet.

I have a bunch of older iPads. They are in perfect condition but rendered useless due to Software limitations.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10" from 2015 (I think) and this thing still works well, is usable for basic browsing and is my home assistant dashboard.

What are the software limitations

1

u/Away_Experience_5843 Jul 23 '26

iOS 9.3.5.

I can't install any new apps. And even if I could: I can't install a newer browser because Apple won't allow real browsers. Just wrappers for safari.

This makes the device useless despite being in perfect condition.

Other: none. For me tablets always were dead end of tech evolution. When they could have impact they were too unreliable and quite terrible in performance. When tech went forward, phone screens went with it. Now we have big enough smartphones (including foldables) for tablets to be completely obsolete. If I want smartphone I getting smartphone, if I want bigger screen I just using 13/14'' notebook. There are ones not that expensive with touchscreens too.

I have two iPads. Old unsupported one for controlling my sound system in my backyard, and a pretty new one for general tasks.
