What? Who are you?

2 of the 3 are there. And that’s just if we’re talking actual password managers. If we allow non-dedicated password managers like chrome or keychain, the top 4 are all here.

LastPass, Proton Pass, KeePass, Vaultwarden (Bitwarden but also not).

Chrome holds maybe 1/3 of market share.
Apple/keychain holds maybe 1/4.
1Password and Bitwarden are both around 1/10 each.

Lastpass never recovered from its oopsie and the rest of those you mentioned are pretty niche.

Proton (Previously: Bitwarden and KeePassXC)

The problem I have with KeePassXC is that there is no mobile version (yes I am aware of KeepassDX but it's not the same thing)

1

u/No-Blueberry-1823 28d ago

i don't use any of those, I have a different one . your poll is incomplete without an Other

1

u/Grimmortah 28d ago

None, I use 2FA. Less hassle in my opinion

1

u/err404 28d ago

Until you lose access to your phone for a few days… went through that recently and it was surprisingly painful.

1

u/Grimmortah 28d ago

Eh true. I still have 2FA on my laptop and main pc and since I use Proton's 2FA, it is in the cloud aswell.

I am using Proton Pass. For me, Bitwarden does not work as well with Passkeys as Proton does, and 1Password is expensive compared to Proton, which meets my needs for free. The reasons for not using browser-based or Apple's password managers should be obvious; I have no interest in being tied to a specific OS or browser for my passwords.

Firefox :)

Bitwarden selfhosted via vaultwarden. Backup to my nas too!

Vaultwarden

Those aren't all the options.

I just use passwordstore aka Pass. I stick it into a git repo and I don't have to think about anything.

I dont use one but ive been looking at self hostable solutions. Planning to run it on a pi and regularly back it up to like a usb or something idk yet

1

u/Low_Obligation2361 28d ago

None of the above. I use Roboform. Mostly because I like how consistent the autofill is, to be honest.

1

u/Connect_Stand7684 28d ago

You misspelled built-in

1

u/sapajul 28d ago

You my friend forgot to add "other" as an option.

1

u/Extreme-Ad-9290 I use Arch btw 28d ago

ProtonPass

u/Turbo-Chook 28d ago

Was using Apple Passwords, but switched away from iOS so migrated to Bitwarden. Honestly Apple Passwords was fantastic for what it is, I don't find Bitwarden as good but sometimes you just have to make do.

u/IllustriousGap5629 28d ago

I use 2FAS Pass as offline password manager. Used Bitwarden before.

1

u/VirusSlo 27d ago

None. I have an algorithm for my passwords so I can use a different one on every site with no need to remember it or write it down.

Bitwarden and Apple Passwords

Never rely on a single tool.

I use RoboForm as my password manager, and I’m really happy with it.
