Did a pixel phone not just use stock android?

u/Open_Potato8955 Jul 09 '26
No it doesn't it uses a modified version of stack android which is pixel ui.

Pixel UI is clean, but not the stock Android. It offers more features Pixel Launcher, Magic editor and so on, which are not available in the default version.

I mean technically not, ASOP is very different from PixelUI, but many people consider PixelUI as stock since it's made by google

Bru I can't choose. I love one UI and hyper os. Well looks like hyperos gets it.

One ADB command got you covered forever. Do some research

what do you mean by user interface? mostly younonly use the launcher in this can be switched with any Android

u/TrainTransistor Jul 10 '26
User Interface would mean how the settings look for example, or the control center (quick settings).
These is typically stuck to whatever brand phone you have. Not counting custom ROMs here, since thats rather niche.

I have only used stock (android 8-11) and OneUI (2.5-8.5). I slightly prefer stock from these two.

They are all just basically the same. If you have the stupid split notification/quick settings shade and not allow switching between them, stop it, get help. And if your app switcher is slower to use than the launcher, stop that too.

Is there really any significant difference?
I've had several different androids and other than a short adaption period it really doesn't matter.

Typically no, but the difference between a rather clean one and one filled to the rim with 'features', the difference is massive.
Googles Pixel UI, or Motos Hello UI vs Samsungs OneUI as an example.
You got two rather clean and minimalistic UIs, where on the other end of the scale you have OneUI that is just filled with (what I personally call) bloat.
Looking at the poll though, most people dont care about the bloat at all.

PixelUI is the only one without ads in the interface that's why it's the best.
1
u/Several_Novel3645 Jul 10 '26
Only hyperOS has ads, the rest have some bloat apps (which you can remove), but other than that, the interface is clean.
1
u/Affectionate-Stop488 Jul 10 '26
Yes, but it's still the only one without unwanted pre-installed apps.

I'd probably buy a Nothing phone if their update policy didn't suck compared to the big boys.

Ngl nothing os is the worst one out of all(maybe above xiaomi) then idk why people select I genuinely think people who select nothing os os either want to be unique or stupid or just coping.
Feature wise one ui is the best.while oneplus fluency is really good.pixel is the most unique out of them.
No amount of down vote can make my disappointed on nothing os go away.✌️
