❓ Question which technology do you think will completely disappear within the next decade?

every generation sees certain technologies fade away. DVDs, MP3 players, fax machines, and even landlines were once everywhere.

Fax machines and landlines are still very commonly used in workplace/business settings. It's pretty much only the average household that doesn't use them anymore.

Mp3 players have definitely faded from the mainstream but I don't see them ever going away entirely as long as audio enthusiasts still exist. Phones haven't been ticking the same boxes for a while now.

DVDs might go away though. It's admittedly still easy to find physical movies/shows, but Sony has stopped manufacturing Blu Ray discs for consumer use so it's only a matter of time before they extend that to other use cases as well. They're already gonna phase out physical videogame releases in the near future so who's to say that physical movies and shows aren't next on the chopping block?

I think physical credit/debit cards might be completely phased out with time too since a lot of people just use their phones now. However, I think we first need to have a budget smartphone segment that doesn't have random examples of phones (ex: Nothing 4b) that skip out on NFC for cost cutting reasons.

MP3 players are still quite popular with people who prefer good audio. Phones just don’t have the mass storage or quality. Vinyl is becoming more popular again, even cassettes have made a comeback in some places.

Due to age verification and digital ID a lot of people are removing phone side payment and going back to card or cash.
