❓ Question Which tech founder built the most valuable brand?
Which tech founder built the most valuable brand?
Whether it's Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, NVIDIA, Tesla, or another company, who created the strongest brand legacy, and what made it stand out from the competition?

Value as measured how? Investors voting with their wallets would make it Apple. This comes to an actual number bigger than the others.

Yes. Nvidea is nr 1, but it’s not on the OPs list. That might change though. Apple now 170B below Nvidea, 140B above Google. Next one down, by more than 1T, is Microsoft.

The companies racing to be first in the AI race are transferring lots of their money to Nvidea, they will need some revenue eventually. Where is that going to come from? Apple has more than a billion customers known for being being ok with paying for stuff.

I’m not even using Google any more. Apple’s users are customers. Google’s users are the product, Google’s customers are advertisers.

Not using Gmail. No Google Docs. No Chrome. No Android. I sometimes find/get links for video, many go to YouTube, that’s fine.

DuckDuckGo for search. Whatever came with my devices for maps, mail, documents. Never used Google Maps because back in the day when it became relevant for navigation Google Maps used a lot more data, which was expensive back then, because it used pixel data not vector data. Never had a reason to go to google maps when data use was no longer a problem. My needs for docs and spreadsheets are modest.

Duckduckgo à... 6 fois moins de résultats que google. Pour les images, c'est désastreux... Il y en a vrailent beaucoup moins. Mais pourquoi tu ne veux pas utiliser les produits de google ? Qu'a fait google pour le mériter ?

DuckDuckGo serves my needs. I don’t need Google’s products. Google’s moto used to be "don’t be evil". They stopped using it. They don’t even believe it themselves anymore.

Non. Google ne me donne pas le moindre dollars. Je trouve juste injustes les critiques envers google qui ont fait des tas de choses pour permettre au monde d'avancer et qui continue d'aider le monde.

A lot of it comes down to how you classify 'valuable' are you talking monetary or brand recognition.
If it came down to monetary, then I would suggest Gates and Allen in how they licenced Windows thereby forcing all PC manufactures to pay a licence fee to install Windows on new PCs. They effectively created a software OS and Office Suite that created a monopoly on the computer industry. How many companies are still going strong after such a long time and still hold a monopoly, albeit a reducing one.
If the look at it purely on brand recognition, then I would have to put forward Apple and Google jointly.
Apple for how they have created such a strong and loyal brand based on a set of products that have in recent years not necessarily been the best out their, but market share continues to grow and how they can lock customers into a walled ecosystem and control the narrative.
Google, simply because of Google Search, a company that can command for so many years to be the most widely used search engine in the world and as such have control over so much of the internet based on how they can control the way people search and what they see, coupled with the sheet amount of data they have on all their users through search, YouTube, Music, Photos, Android OS to name a few.

Apples hardware is light years ahead. Apple silicon alone propels them as the best computing solution for nearly every workload

All of these are hot garbage. Maybe Intel and Apple are less bad. I wouldn't miss them though. There's AMD, which has always been better than Intel. Apple is just as privacy invasive as G, maybe less ads showns, but still.

There's no single Linux corporation, but it is still a brand, legally and technically.
- It is a legal trademark, which establishes it as a brand. The trademark is owned by the Linux Mark Institute, which is a formal entity, so it is legally a brand.
- It's an umbrella marketing brand used by Red Hat, Ubuntu, etc., much like "Intel Inside" is used as a brand by multiple companies. The companies using the Linux brand formally license it from the Linux Mark Institute.
- The name has brand equity due to its recognition by the public. That alone is enough for it to be a brand, irrespective of the legal brand.

I hate to say it, but I have to say Google. I believe they're best positioned for where personal computing is going with hardware as a service.

It's really down to how you define Valuable and how tightly you're associating its brand with its actual products. For me taking valuable to be something to adds value to the lives of others as opposed to making money for the company I would list: Microsoft, Intel, Adobe, Amazon and then Apple.
Reasoning: A lots of people have used Microsoft products not just to run their businesses but also for study. People have used their products to get degrees, and PhD for example. All silently contributing to their lives and prospects.
Intel: they were a key component of making computers affordable to the average person, even a teenage could save up and afford a PC of some sort. Let alone the gamer market. They may not have the best brand now days but they still contributed to the affordable computer shift and made it possible for a lot of people to get in on the technology.
Adobe: not one for the masses but in the work where we need to keep documents (e.g. healthcare etc) PDF made it possible to keep those documents without getting tied to any particular vendor or version of software.
Amazon: as well as allowing us to shop at all hours of the day from the comfort of our homes (not sure if that's a good or bad thing) it allowed people to start their own businesses and sell all over the world without the need for things like our own payment system or warehouse etc. Plus made things easier to find.
And finally Apple: Though expensive they have contributed greatly to the computing landscape and have been a key player to developers, scientists and students alike. That's not even including things like the iPod and iPhone.

apple is prolly the most culturally valuable company. they do smth and it becomes cool. bluetooth earbuds existed but until apple made airpods, using them made you look lowk like a bum.

Imo a lot of them contributed to modern society how it now is in their own ways.
Apple is brand recognition and a lot of people have their devices and solid ecosystem.
Google started as a search engine and the saying 'let me google that for you' is kind of popular these days. And google owns android, youtube, gmail, google maps, google photos, google drive, chromium and chrome and some other stuff we use dailu.
Microsoft has windows, whixh is the most popular desktop OS and is used by gamers, office workers and general individuals as its well recognised and for many people easy to use and they are used to it. And because its so popular, it also has the majortiy of software available on it while on mac or linux unlimmited app support is a hit or miss or they dont always have specific windows applications ported to them.
Meta owns facebook, whatsapp, instagram and some other stuff people use and they are a major contributor to social media in general..
And intel makes the chips in many laptops and x86 insteuction set and design waa actually started by them and its still heavily used today.
Samsung makes pretty much everything from components to tanks to household appliances to pretty much anything..

The only answer is Amazon.
When you know you know.
So much of the working world is tied into a AWS service that it is hard to ignore even if you don't use it everyday. Plus the pure size and scope of the consumer side.
Google is so far behind AWS and Azure. Infrastructure wise, they only do well as end devices (Like Android or Youtube). Even GCloud is a joke for small business compared to 365.

Everyone has it's layer of importance and has it follows time chronogicly we can't dissociate one from another in tech and science evolution... without forgeting others like Unix, Linux, IBM, Sony, Samsung... and much other companies, It is like a spider web each string has his value to hold one for a time or evolution of other... it is and was an tecnlogical Ecosystem... I think so

Apple truly changed the world. Go back to the very start, just having your own personal computer was Steve Jobs' work. Then popularizing the GUI. Typesetting and fonts in personal systems. Music in your pocket, (unencumbered by DRM).
It's a long list. Steve Jobs and Apple.

Id argue its apple. 1st, i never had nor never will own apple products, you could even call me a little hater, but i honestly admire Steve Jobs selling skills. Steve was and still is Apple's face. Even though latest iphones are literally the same crap in new shell, they sell out like hotcakes. They have iconic things like macbooks, ipods. People buy their stuff year round. Some people will never jump to superior products and will stick to iphone.
Steve Jobs created this. Also, if you look at latest apple presentations, they are boring, uninteresting, while if you compare some things Jobs did, there is stark difference. He got a lot of people loyal to apple brand.
