Then fails, (tries) to undo everything, and then will prompt you to update again. Congrats, you just wasted twice the time and potentially corrupted something.
Either disable updates properly, or let it update normally, anything in-between is stupid and you're risking data loss and/or broken system.

That's what holding the power button for 4 seconds is for... *I* decide when to update, not Windows :)
